James Elwood “Butch” Smith of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late William Richard and Mary Agnes (Rigsby) Smith, was born November 23, 1943 in Louisville and departed this life on Monday, June 9, 2025 in Hodgenville at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home. He was 81 years of age.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Norma G. (Sapp) Smith who preceded him in death in 2016.
He was a heating and air technician most of his life and was of the Catholic Faith.
He is survived by many friends, including David Wells of Campbellsville.
A graveside service for James Elwood “Butch” Smith will be Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Green River Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, 3441 Old Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY.
Bro. Steve Orr will be officiating.
There will NO visitation prior to the service.
L.R. Petty Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Margaret Ellen Helms of Adair County, KY, the daughter of the late William and Gladys Hill, was born August 24, 1944 in Ocean City, New Jersey and departed this life on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at her home. She was 80 years of age.
She was a former restaurant worker and was a member of the Fry Baptist Church in Green County.
Margaret enjoyed cross stitching, loved to read and being a mother of five.
Survivors include her husband: William Thomas Helms; a son: Beau Hunter and wife Vicky; seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by four children.
To honor Margaret’s request, cremation rites were conducted by L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

Buford Thomas Tungate Jr. of Elk Horn, the son of the late Buford Thomas Tungate Sr. and Viola Noel Tungate, was born September 23, 1947, in Danville, IL, and departed this life on June 11, 2025, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville, KY. He was 77 years of age.
He professed faith in Christ and attended the Farmers Chapel Church of God. He enjoyed camping and being outdoors. He was a veteran and served his country honorably in the United States Army in Korea.
He is survived by one brother, Oliver Tungate and his wife Ruth of Elk Horn, and a special Aunt Margaret Doris Noel of Tennessee, and several cousins and other relatives and friends.
Graveside service Friday, June 13, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Brookside Cemetery with full Military Honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Robert Douglas Phillips of Campbellsville, the son of the late Lawrence William and Bertie (Eads) Phillips, was born March 19, 1930 in Illinois and departed this life on Sunday, June 8, 2025 in Elizabethtown at the Baptist Health Hardin. He was 95 years of age.
He was a farmer and former brick layer and was of the Christian Faith.
He enjoyed chasing his cows on the farm and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Suzann (Sublett) Phillips, having united in marriage on December 20, 1975.
Also a daughter: Christy Pike and husband Allen of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: MaKayla Giles and husband Tim, Katilynn Martin and husband Paul, Kody Phillips and wife Allison, Wade Pike and wife Ashley, Corey Pike and wife JoAnn; three great-grandchildren: Kinslee Ann Giles, Rhett Ashcraft and Addisyn Ashcraft; special friend: Tony Despain and a host of other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
The funeral service for Robert Douglas Phillips will be Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with interment in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Bro. Jeff Edwards will be officiating.
Family requests visitation after 11:00 A.M. Thursday until time for service.
Memorials are suggested to the Taylor County Animal Shelter and can be made at the funeral home.

Linda Gail Hitch of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Kenneth Frank and Margueritte Lou (Phillips) Clark, was born September 27, 1960, in Taylor County, KY, and departed this life on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at her home. She was 64 years of age.
She enjoyed yard sales, collecting, and was an avid Elvis collector.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Hitch in 2016.
Survivors include her children: Christopher Thomas Clark and wife Leticia, and Wendy Dahlquist and husband Jerrit, all of Campbellsville, and Miranda King and husband Wayne of Indiana.
Also ten grandchildren: Drayven Webster, Christopher, Nathaniel, Sophia and Abigail Clark, Kairi, Jackson and Ganon Dahlquist, Aaron and Savannah King, and one brother, Kenneth Allen Clark of Campbellsville, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Linda Gail Hitch will be Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Elk Horn Cemetery.
