Rodney Cross, 56

cross-picMr. Rodney Cross of Campbellsville, son of the late William and Willa (Johnson) Cross, was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 11, 1960. He departed this life on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital after a brief illness. He was 56 years, 4 months, and 5 days of age. Mr. Cross professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church. He installed floor tile, and was a talented singer and cook. He enjoyed barbequing, gardening, hunting and fishing, and was a leading example to kids as a little league soccer and baseball coach.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

Four children: Raymond Fowler and wife Jessica of Louisville, Tyler Cross and wife Hannah of Charleston, South Carolina, and Rebecca Cross and Jacqueline Cross, both of Campbellsville,

One brother and one sister: Mike Cross and Lisa Cross, both of Las Vegas, Nevada,

A former spouse: Bonnie Cross of Campbellsville,

Three grandchildren: Halle Reese Cross, Raymond Carl Fowler, V, and Levi Henry Fowler,

A good friend and former father-in-law: Orville Smith of Campbellsville,

And a host of extended family and friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Cross on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 7:00 PM EST in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd., Campbellsville, KY. Rev. J. Alvin Hardy will be officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 23, from 4:00 PM EST until time for the service.

Mr. Cross will be cremated after the funeral and his ashes will be laid to rest in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at a later date.lrpetty-logo

tungate-barry Mr. Lewis Barry Tungate, age 58, of Campbellsville, son of the late Sylvester and Helen (Garrett) Tungate, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at his home after a sudden illness. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. He is survived by two brothers, Eric Tungate and wife Phyllis of Campbellsville, and Stanley Tungate of Marion County, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by four siblings: Russell Tungate, Rosetta Lewis, Zelda Bottoms, and Cindy Webb.

A private graveside service will be held in Campbellsville at the Brookside Cemetery. There will be no visitation.lrpetty-logo

lula-brown Mrs. Lula Francis “Lou” Brown of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Elmer and Flossie Jane (Goff) Warren, was born in Somerset on April 22, 1945. She left this world to be united with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at her home. She was 71 years, 9 months, and 19 days of age. Mrs. Brown professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Saloma Baptist Church. She was an administrative clerk for home health agencies. As a talented pianist, she enjoyed visiting area churches and playing during their services.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

One daughter: Charman Barnes of Campbellsville,

One son: Kyle Brown of Campbellsville,

A granddaughter: Shelbi Barnes of Campbellsville,

Two special friends: Shelia Thomas of Campbellsville, and Betty Judd of Greensburg,

And a host of extended family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a brother and sister, Donald Warren and Betty Jane Warren.

penick-picMrs. Tina Rose Penick of Summersville, daughter of Lovan (Graham) Kerr and the late Marvin Penick, passed from this life on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at her home. Born in Taylor County on August 5, 1964, she was 52 years, 4 months, and 5 days of age. Mrs. Penick was a certified nursing assistant before becoming disabled. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Presbyterian denomination.

She leaves to mourn her passing:

One daughter: Christina Marie Cowan of Campbellsville,

Her mother: Lovan Kerr of Campbellsville,

Two sisters: Teresa J. Milby and Virginia Shutters, both of Greensburg,

Two grandchildren: Cash Cowan and Mia Raye Lumpkin,

And a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Cremation was chosen and there will be a memorial service to honor the life of Mrs. Penick on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM EST in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Jim Collison will be officiating.

kenneth-dile Mr. Kenneth Dee Dile of Greensburg was born on January 15, 1946 to the late Shreve and Louise (Burris) Dile. He departed this life on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Cedars of Lebanon Nursing and Rehab Center after an extended illness. He was 70 years, 10 months, and 14 days of age. Mr. Dile was a painter by trade, and had also worked as a farmer and truck driver. He enjoyed stock car racing, and kept up with all the local drivers as well as NASCAR. Mr. Dile professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

His wife: Evelyn (Price) Dile of Greensburg,

Three sons: Jeffrey Lee Dile and friend Sandy Froggett of Greensburg, Kenny Douglas Dile of Campbellsville, and Bobby Joe Dile of Green County,

Six siblings: Barbara Jo Rayburn of Columbia, James Dylan “Logan” Dile of Campbellsville, Charles Walter Dile and wife Diane of Taylor County, Johnny Wayne DIle and wife Judy of Campbellsville, Joyce Dean Simpson of Campbellsville, and Sharon Sue Cates Kearney and husband Wilbert of Barren County,

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Dile on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 1:00/12:00c in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Dewayne Lobb will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Greensburg Cemetery.
