Barbara Ann Abell, 70

abellMrs. Barbara Ann Abell, 70, of Campbellsville, died Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Louisville at Norton’s Hospital.
Born October 17, 1945 in the Merrimac community of Taylor county, she was the daughter of the late Mary Leeann “Helena” Brown. Barbara was raised by her grandparents Willie & Lee Brown of the Cuddler Creek Community of Taylor County and attended the Merrimac School.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Elkhorn Baptist Church. She worked many years as assistant manager and waitress for Druther’s Restaurant in Lebanon and was an E.M.T. for the Marion County Emergency Services in Lebanon for a short time and a caregiver for the elderly.

Survivors include her children, Rebecca (Bob) Dutill of Tarpon Springs, FL., Victor Abell of Lebanon, Chuck Abell of Indiana, Leonard (Wilma) Abell of Campbellsville and Ada Abell of Harrodsburg.
Eleven grandchildren of which four she raised: LeeAnn Abell, John Abell, Drew Abell, Tesla Abell; fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Besides her grandparents and mother, Mrs. Abell was preceded in death by a brother, Amos O’Daniel Jr. Also known as Junior Brown.

The funeral service for Mrs. Barbara Ann Abell, will be Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. EST in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville, Ky. Visitation is at 11am. Burial to follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Casey County. Bro. Haywood Riner will be officiating.

Willard L. Brewer, 77

Brewer Mr. Willard L. Brewer of Campbellsville was born in Louisville, Kentucky on August 15, 1939 to the late Howard and Sadie (Price) Brewer. He departed this life on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital, being 77 years and 19 days of age. He was married to Mrs. Geraldine (Lawson) Brewer, who preceded him in death on November 9, 2015. Mr. Brewer professed faith in Christ, and lived his life as a moral example to others. He was employed at the Fruit of the Loom plant in Campbellsville until retirement.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

One son: Ricky Brewer of Campbellsville,

One sister: Dorothy Hester and husband Daniel of Louisville,

Three grandchildren: Candace Sneed and husband Jason, Blake Brewer and wife Danielle, and Emma Brewer, all of Campbellsville,

One nephew: Marty Hester of Louisville,

And a host of extended family and close friends.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Brewer, Claudie Brewer, and Everett Brewer.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Brewer at 11:00 AM EST on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Mr. Brewer will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3878 Old Greensburg Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 5, from 5:00-8:00 PM EST.

Rev. Greg Rueda, Sr, 61

Rueda2 Rev. Greg Rueda of Campbellsville, son of the late Albert Rueda and Jean and Philip “Popo” Scudieri, was born on August 29, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois. He departed this life on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago after failing to recover from a medical procedure. He was 61 years and 3 days of age. Rev. Rueda was a retiree of CSX Transportation, where he had worked several years as a supervisor on the railway lines. After a lengthy courtship, he married his sweetheart Brenda Graham on April 15, 2015 and together they shared many distinctive experiences. Rev. Reuda professed faith in Christ, and was a member of the Robinson Creek Baptist Church. Ever selfless, he gained great joy from encouraging others in their walk with Christ, and his considerate heart allowed him to instantly connect with and uplift those of all faiths and denominations.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

Robert “Bob” Wheeler, 68

Bob 2Mr. Robert Henry “Bob” Wheeler of Campbellsville passed from this life on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab Center after a battle with cancer. Born in Estill County, Kentucky on February 26, 1948 to the late Charles and Nancy Boyd (Lunsford) Wheeler, he was 68 years and 6 months of age at the time of his death. Mr. Wheeler spent the majority of his life in the construction industry. As a young child, his mother and father had instilled in him a faith in Christ, and earlier this year, he was saved and baptized in the Baptist faith.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

Three children: Melinda Howard and husband Coy of Springfield, Mary Wheeler of Louisville, and Bro. Clay Wheeler and wife Heather of Staffordsville,

Two sisters: Margarita Thomas of Lexington, and Sue Dabney and husband Billy of Mannsville,

Four grandchildren: Jacob Howard, Derek Howard, Matilyn Wheeler, and Elias Wheeler,

A niece and nephew: Ann Dabney and Neil Dabney and wife Jaclyn,

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Curtis Wheeler.

There will be a memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Wheeler on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 6:00 PM EST at the Meadowview Baptist Church, 1211 Elkhorn Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718 with Bro. Clay Wheeler officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church after 4:00 PM until time for the service, and after the service until 8:00 PM. At Mr. Wheeler’s request, his ashes will be returned to Estill County for burial in the family cemetery alongside his parents.

AlexanderMr. Frank H. Alexander of Knifley was born in Ypslanti, Michigan on Friday, June 5, 1936. He departed this life on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 80 years, 2 months, and 18 days of age. Mr. Alexander was married to Mrs. Dorothy (Rose) Alexander, who survives. He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Alexander was a veteran, having served his country honorably in the United States Army. As a young man, he began a career at the Ford Motor Company and worked there until retirement. With a desire to always leave things better than when he found them, he kept his mind sharp by playing euchre or solving word puzzles, and always had a well-manicured yard and flower garden.

He leaves to carry his legacy:
