BRimMr. Dewey Dale “Bud” Brim of Campbellsville was born on October 3, 1970 in Mercer County, Kentucky to the late J.C. and Odell (Absher) Brim. He departed this life at 10:40 PM on Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Stanford after a lengthy illness. Mr. Brim was 45 years, 8 months, and 24 days of age. He enjoyed farm work, and was employed at Rufus Hansford Realty and Lawson Tractor Company for several years. He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

One daughter: Theresa Louise Cox of Campbellsville,

One granddaughter: Gracelynn Isabella Mull of Campbellsville,

Six siblings: James Brim and wife Kim of Marion County, Tilford Brim and wife Martha of Campbellsville, Ruthie Gardnier and husband Mike of Willisburg, and Bessie Johnson and husband Mark, Dorothy Reynolds and husband Greg, and Peggy Raikes and husband Donald, all of Campbellsville,

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Brim on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 12:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Bro. Jim Collison will be officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 5, from 5:00-8:00 PM.

Frances “Granny” White, 86

White PICMrs. Frances “Granny” White of Campbellsville was born on Tuesday, February 18, 1930 in Taylor County to the late Henry and Lola (Clark) Martin. She departed this life on Friday, June 17, 2016 in Celina, Tennessee at the age of 86 years, 3 months, and 30 days. She was a retired caregiver. Mrs. White enjoyed watching NASCAR, sewing, cooking, and gardening, but her true calling was to be a friend and grandmother. She was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church and had completed the Campbellsville Emmaus Walk.

She leaves to carry her legacy:

One daughter: Susan Miller of Campbellsville,

Three sons: Keith Ratcliff and Annette Ratcliff of Campbellsville, Dewey Ratcliff and wife Sharon of New Albany, IN, and Phillip Ratcliff of Celina, TN,

Eight grandchildren: Robin Ratcliff of Lexington, Roger Ratcliff, Carol Richerson and husband Bryan, Bradley Ratcliff and wife Emily, Ritchie Bell and wife Jennifer, all of Campbellsville, and Mary Frances Ratcliff, Lola Marie Ratcliff, and Martha Warren, all of Celina, TN,

Eight great-grandchildren: Desmond Ford, Chase Richerson, Zachery Richerson, Michael Shafer, Nicholas Dunagan, Austin Dunagan, Constance Cherry, and Justin Warren,

Ten great-great-grandchildren,

All the kids at the Summit Care Center, whom she was especially close to,

And her beloved dogs: Chewy and Whiskers.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Donnie Ratcliff, and one grandson, Robbie Warren.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Frances “Granny” White on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718 at 3:00 PM EST. Bro. Larry Frisby will be officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded her after the service.

Betty Melvin Roar, 81

Roar_edited-1 copyBetty Melvin Roar, 81, of Wurtland, KY, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, in the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.

Mrs. Roar was born August 30, 1934 in Wurtland, KY, a daughter of the late Cermilus and Clytie Colegrove Melvin. She was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Roar; one grandson; two granddaughters; one brother, Gerald Melvin; and two sisters, Ruth Russell and Minnie Potter.

She was a member of the Wurtland Church of God and a very devout Christian.

Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Walter Roar, Sr., two sons, Pete (Trudy) Roar and Scott Roar both of Wurtland, KY; four daughters, Marlene (Raymond) Clark of Campbellsville, KY, Shelby Litteral of Wurtland, KY, Clytie (David) Porter of Ashland, KY, and Cathy (Mark) Reeves of Catlettsburg, KY; one daughter-in-law, Jane Roar of Greenup, KY; 18 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; one brother, Jesse Melvin of Flatwoods, KY; and three sisters, Elizabeth Witten of West Jefferson, OH, Zella Penix and Joy Litteral of Wurtland, KY.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at the Wurtland Church of God under the care of the Evans Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Church by the Bishop Henry Montgomery. Burial will be in the Roar Cemetery in Wurtland, KY.

She professed faith in Christ and attended the Greensburg Baptist Church as her health allowed.

Wendell Hitch, 54

Hitch PICMr. Wendell Jackson Hitch of Campbellsville was born on Wednesday, January 3, 1962 to William Jackson and Maxine (McCubbins) Hitch. He departed this life on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was 54 years, 5 months, and 8 days of age. Mr. Hitch professed faith in Christ and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Campbellsville. He was a respected and talented auto body repairman, and worked at Johnson Motors in Campbellsville. Mr. Hitch loved all things mechanical, and was always tinkering with old cars and bikes. He enjoyed attending car shows, and built some unique rat rods.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

Three children: Miranda King and husband Wayne of Kokomo, IN, Wendy Hitch Dahlquist and husband Jerrit of Campbellsville, and Christopher Clark, also of Campbellsville,

He was preceded in death by one sister in infancy.
