Alva Mae Morrison, 96

Mrs. Alva Mae Morrison was born in Green County, Kentucky on February 17, 1919 into the marriage of the late Nearce Clay and Shirley (Madden) Milby. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Jane Todd Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, having attained the age of 96 years, 2 months, and 28 days. She was the wife of the late Russell Morrison, Sr., with whom she had shared many happy years. Mrs. Morrison was retired from the Fruit of the Loom plant in Campbellsville. She professed faith in Christ and was of the Church of God faith. Her sharp mind and quick wit will be long remembered by all who knew her.

Mrs. Morrison leaves to cherish her memory:
One sister: Dixie Marcum of the Hudgins community in Green County,
Two grandchildren: Darrell Morrison of Campbellsville, and Kimberly Baker of Indiana,
Five great grandchildren: Christopher Daniel Morrison, Clay Baker, Clint Baker, Dylan Morrison, and Jay Morrison,
Two great-great grandchildren,
And a host of other extended family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by three children, Russell Morrison, Jr., Edward Wayne Morrison, and Joan Morrison, and two grandchildren, Danny Morrison, and Eddie Morrison.

There will be a graveside funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Morrison on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the Greensburg City Cemetery, North Main St, Greensburg, KY 42743 at 3:00 PM EST / 2:00 CST. Bro. James Walker will be officiating.
There will be no public visitation.

Mr. David Bennett, age 50, of Columbia, the son of the late Vernon and Evelyn Tabor Bennett, passed away on Thursday in Lexington at the UK Hospital.

Survivors include his brother: Dale Bennett of Columbia.

Special friend: Stevie Coomer of Columbia.

Cremation rites were entrusted to L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Campbellsville.

Geraldine Vera Whittle, 79

WHITTLE PICMrs. Geraldine Vera Whittle, age 79, of Nashville, formerly of Metcalfe County, passed away on Wednesday in Nashville at the Skyline Medical Center.

Survivors include three daughters: Cindy Vaughn, Bonnie Holloway and Carolyn Massey and husband Steve, all of Edmonton.

Three sons: Timothy Dick and wife Eva of Columbia, Jeff Dick and Johnny Dick both of Nashville.

24 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends survive

The funeral service for Mrs. Geraldine Vera Whittle, will be conducted Saturday at 2 PM EST 1 PM CST at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Metcalfe County.

Visitation after 11 AM EST 10 AM CST on Saturday at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

EldridgeMrs. Gina Diane Eldridge, the daughter of the late Joseph Ray and Anna Smith Sizemore, was born October 13, 1957 in Lincoln Nebraska and departed this life on Thursday, May 14, 2015 in Campbellsville at the Taylor Regional Hospital. She was 57 years of age.
Gina, along with her husband and children, live in Hazard, KY, but was admitted to the hospital while in Campbellsville for the graduation of her son from Campbellsville University.
She was a Registered Nurse and was of the Southern Baptist Faith.
She leaves behind to mourn her passing: Her husband: David W. Bostic, a son: Matthew Allen Eldridge and wife Patricia and a daughter: Meghan Lee Eldridge, all of Hazard, KY.
Two grandchildren; a brother: Donald Joe Sizemore and wife Mariana of Lexington and a host of other relatives and friends.

Cremation Rites were entrusted to L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Campbellsville.
There will be no visitation or funeral at this time, however a memorial service will be planned by her family at a later date.

Raikes PicMr. Jimmy Raikes, Campbellsville, the son of the late Bill and Christine Alberson Raikes, was born July 28, 1953 in Marion County, KY and departed this life on Wednesday Louisville at the Hosparus Care Center. He was 61 years of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Latter Day Saint and was a automobile mechanic, having worked at Goodyear for over 19 years, where he was nicknamed “Okie Dokie”.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Donald and Peggy Raikes of Campbellsville; two daughters and sons-in-law: Jamia and Shane Murley of Campbellsville and Amy Raikes and Curtis Hartman of Casey County.
Also three brothers: Hubert and Edith Raikes and Herbert and Dola Raikes both of Bradfordsville, Billy Mattingly and fiancée Janice of Raywick; a sister: Gayle and Buddy McNear of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Cordie Raikes, Kaleigh Murley, Tyler Raikes and DJ Raikes all of Campbellsville and Brandon Sutton and Shawn Sutton of Snyder, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Raikes was preceded in death by three brothers: David Allen Raikes, Michael Raikes and Randall Raikes.

The funeral service for Mr. Jimmy Raikes will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Old Liberty Cemetery in Marion County.
Visitation from 2-8 PM on Sunday and after 8 AM Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the funeral expense fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
