George Robert Vetter, 74

Vetter PicMr. George Robert Vetter of Campbellsville, a veteran of the United States Army and the Kentucky National Guard, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington surrounded by his family. He was 74 years, 4 months, and 16 days of age. He was the son of the late George Charles and Linny Mae (Carter) Vetter. Mr. Vetter was an employee at the former Parker-Kalon factory and was a farmer. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church.

Mr. Vetter leaves to mourn his passing:
His wife: Judy (Bishop) Vetter of Campbellsville
Two daughters: Lisa Hoosier and husband Daniel, and Tracy Morgan and husband Tommy, all of Campbellsville,
One step-son: Terry Joe King of Mannsville,
One brother: Randall Vetter of Campbellsville,
One step-sister: Darlene Gumm of Summersville,
Twelve grandchildren,
Twenty-four great-grandchildren,
And a host of other family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Rex Vetter.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Vetter conducted on Monday, October, 20, 2014 at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY 42718 at 11:00 AM.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until time for the service.
Interment will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemeter with military honors.

Avery Vinson, 61

IMG_1232Mr. Avery Vinson of Campbellsville, Kentucky, formerly of North Carolina, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 after an illness. He was 61 years of age. Mr. Vinson professed faith in Christ; he was baptized in, and was a member of, the Toccoa Church of God in Toccoa, Georgia. After moving to Kentucky thanks to international removals to USA, he attended God’s Grace Church in Campbellsville. He was a former truck driver by trade. Mr. Vinson was a veteran of the armed forces and served his country honorably in the United States Army.

Mr. Vinson leaves to cherish his memory:
His wife: Mary Karen Vinson of Campbellsville,
Two sons: Dusty Lee Vinson of London, KY, and Steven Ansel Vinson and wife Jennifer of Apopka, FL,
Five brothers and sisters: Aleta Baker and husband Raymond of Otto, NC, Allen Vinson and wife Sandy, Archie Vinson, Amory Martin and wife Bethany, and Angie Taylor and husband Clinton, all of Clayton, GA,
And a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Steven Willis Vinson and Blanche (Ramey) Vinson McCarthy, and a toddler brother, Alvin Vinson.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Vinson conducted at the House of Hope (Tessentee) Church of God in Franklin, NC on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Bro. Robert Dryman and Bro. Greg Bartram will be officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 16, from 5:00-8:00 PM at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville, and on Friday, October 17, from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Bryant-Grant Funeral Home in Franklin, NC.
Burial will be in the Lower Tessentee Church of God Cemetery in Franklin, NC.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be in the form of donations to the funeral expenses, and can be made at the funeral home.

Mason - PicMr. James Lawrence Mason, Sr. of Campbellsville, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the Taylor Regional Hospital after a sudden illness. He was 34 years of age. He was the son of Martha (Rakes) McFarland and the late James Ervin Mason, the husband to Mrs. Carrie (Garrett) Mason, and the loving dad and step-dad to 5 children. Mr. Mason worked on several local farms and was known for his strong work ethic. Camping and fishing with his family were a favorite pastime of his.

Lanora Judd Johnson, 79

Johnson PIC Mrs. Lanora (Judd) Johnson was born in Green County, Kentucky on August 15, 1935 to the marriage of Flym Jackson and Mattie Pearl Judd. She passed from this life on Monday, October 6, 2014 in Campbellsville. She was the cherished wife of Richard “R.D.” Johnson, who survives. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Liberty Separate Church in Greensburg, and also attended the Campbellsville Baptist Church. She worked 25 years at the Fruit of the Loom plant in Campbellsville, but her passion was farming. When she wasn’t cooking or taking care of her home, she was often seen driving her tractor around the family farm.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Johnson is survived by:
One brother: Gene Judd and wife Sarah of Greensburg,
One sister: Laverne Brooks and husband Jerry of Munfordville,
Two nieces: Jerynita Tennyson and husband Gary, and Joyneta Wilkerson and husband Freddy Joe,

Skaggs pic Mr. Lawrence DeWayne Skaggs of Shepherdsville, formerly of Campbellsville, passed away at the Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. He was 50 years, 3 months, and 18 days of age. He was the son of Lucy Helen (Shofner) Skaggs of Campbellsville and the late Ernest Skaggs, Jr.
Mr. Skaggs worked several years in the janitorial services industry. He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.

Besides his mother, Mr. Skaggs is survived by:
