Cathy-Jo “Cathy” Batten, 54

Cathy-Jo “Cathy” Batten (Rector), of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, age 54, was called to her heavenly rest on March 27, 2024, in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Cathy was born on October 15, 1969, daughter to the late William Garrett Rector and the living Sue Maxey. As a woman of enduring faith and steadfast love, Cathy’s life was a portrait of traditional values and unwavering commitment to her family. Her laughter echoed the simple joys of life, and her willpower reflected the honorable, disciplined character she embodied. Cathy leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Batten; her dear daughter, Destiny Batten, along with son-in-law, Chris Woods; and her adored granddaughters, Khloe Batten, Korie Woods, and Remie Jo Woods, who will continue to cherish her memory. She also leaves behind her brother, Garrett Rector Sr. (Dawn), her sister, Carolyn Sue Rector, and her caring mother and stepfather, Sue and Jimmy Maxey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Cathy’s passage into eternal peace is one we meet with heavy hearts, yet we find comfort in the knowledge that her spirit finds solace in the presence of the Divine.

We part with our beloved Cathy with the traditional words, Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust,” in the sure and certain hope of the Resurrection to eternal life. “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” II Corinthians 5:8 NKJV.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the heartfelt condolences and kind gestures shown during this time of sorrow. Cathy’s life, marked by authenticity and a gentle strength, will be commemorated in the truest sense through the memories held close by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The family chose cremation and there will be no public services.
