Isamae Adams

Isamae Adams of Bradfordsville, KY, the daughter of the late Irvin Courtwright and Jane Goode Courtwright, was born June 11, 1930 in Marion County, KY and departed this life on Thursday, June 1, 2023 in Campbellsville. She was 92 years of age.

She had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Christian Church in Bradfordsville. She was a homemaker and had been employed in the restaurant business for over twenty years. She enjoyed music and playing instruments of all kinds by ear. She had performed at Renfro Valley and many other places all over the United States. She was also known as a painting artist.

She is survived by three sons and one daughter: Kenny Adams, Marty Adams and wife Bridget, and Darren Adams, all of Bradfordsville. Annette Malone and husband Dan of Lebanon. One son-in-law, David Rakes of Lebanon.

Five grandchildren: Terry Wilson (Beth), Bobbie Jean Todd (Jeff), Krystal Adams, Derek Adams (Allison), and Kellan Adams. Fourteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Adams, a daughter, Anna Fay Rakes, two sisters, Lucille Matherly and Bobbi Jean Courtwright, and one brother, Danny Courtwright, and a grandchild, Amanda Jo Adams.

There will be a funeral service for Isamae Adams on Monday June 5, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Pleasant Valley Christian Church in Bradfordsville, KY with burial to follow in the Weatherford Cemetery. Bro. Delane Pinkston and Bro. Bill Miller will officiate.

The family requests visitation on Monday June 5, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at Pleasant Valley Christian Church in Bradfordsville, KY.

Serving as Pallbearers will be: Terry Wilson, Derek Adams, Kallen Adams, Kameron Leake, Lyndon Leake, P.T. Malone and Tony Courtwright

Mrs. Mary Frances Lee of Campbellsville passed from this life on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at her home. Daughter of the late Lemuel and Mattie (Farmer) Mardis, she was born in Taylor County on September 29, 1941 and was 81 years of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Pitman Valley Baptist Church. Mrs. Lee was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and was an in-home childcare provider for many years. She was the devoted wife of Charles Wayne Lee, who preceded her in death in 2003.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Two daughters: Lisa Lee Webb and Erica Lee,

A brother: Harold Mardis and wife Eunonia,

Sisters-in-law: Nellie Mardis, Shirley Mardis, and Ailene Mardis,

A close friend: Linda Sluder,

And several other extended family members and friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Lee on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Dannie Nelson will officiate. Immediately following the service, she will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 5, from 5:00-8:00 PM.

Houston Jenkins, 90

Houston Jenkins, age 90, departed this life on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 in Jamestown. Houston was a former resident of Adair County and lived for several years in Campbellsville.

Houston was an original member of the Melody Aires Quartet singing the bass part. He and Melody Aires sang Gospel music for many years in churches throughout Kentucky and surrounding states. He loved his family, church family, and friends. Houston loved to fish and hunt, and was a devoted University of Kentucky Wildcat basketball fan.

Houston was a professed Christian. He loved the Lord and was a member of Campbellsville First Church of God.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Ruth Ann Stayton Jenkins, in May of 2014. Houston was also preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Susan Anna Jeffries Jenkins of Metcalfe County, and a sister, Elgia Jenkins, also of Metcalfe County.

He is survived by three children: Steve and Tammy Jenkins of Somerset, Kevin and Shelly Jenkins of Columbia, and Margo and Gary Pennington of North Carolina. He is also survived by three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Houston leaves behind his very special sisters-in-law and their families, who loved him like a brother: Tretha Dugger, Donna Estes and husband Bobby, and Linda Owens, all of Campbellsville.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM EDT (1:00 PM CDT) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY.  Bro. Colin McDaniel, and Bro. Evan Tedder will officiate. Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 PM EDT (4:00-8:00 PM CDT) on Saturday, and again on Sunday after 11:00 AM EDT (10:00 AM CDT) until time for the funeral.

Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Lake Cumberland or Gideon Bible Donations, both can be made at the funeral home.

Millard Randall Carney

Millard Randall Carney, of Elk Horn (Bass Ridge) the son of the late Stanley and Grace (Ross) Carney, was born July 4, 1937 in Knifley, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 in Somerset at the Jean Waddle Care Center. He was 85 years of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Raikes Hill Baptist Church, where he was known as the church hugger. He was a former logger, having owned and operated Carney Logging.

Millard enjoyed hunting, playing cards, cornhole, family games of all kinds, walking and being outdoors, spending time with family and friends and making people smile.

Survivors include his wife Ann (Buckholdt) Carney; his children: Tony Carney and wife Regena of Danville, Phillip Carney and wife Laura of Jamestown, Teresa Hinman and husband Glen and Lesa Cogar and husband Larry, both of Ohio, Bekki Lamkin and husband Mike of Raywick, Sandra Grant and husband Wally of Columbia.

Also surviving is LouRaye Smith and husband Tom, Kay Krug and husband Eddie of Knifley and Cindy Williams and husband Jerry of Elk Horn; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers: Margaret Carney, Janet Sanders, Stanley Carney, Charles Carney and Mike Carney.

 

Funeral Service for Millard Randall Carney will be Monday, May 22, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. EST in the Campbellsville Chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Caldwell Chapel Cemetery.

Evelyne Edelen-Hayden of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late James and Ethel (Osborne) Edelen, was born February 16, 1972 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at her home. She was 51 years of age.

She enjoyed watching her TV shows, drawing and artwork, riding around sightseeing, but most of all, taking care of her little dog Gizmo and watching her hummingbird feeder.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister: Phillip Edelen and Julita Buckman.

Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Jerry Hayden; a son: Jarrod Thomas Hayden and companion: Katelyn Miller; two sisters and two brothers: Kim Hayden and husband Steve, Tim Edelen and wife Glenda, Regina Shively and husband Jeff and Joseph Edelen; her mother-in-law: Betty Hayden, all of Campbellsville and a host of special nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Evelyne Edelen-Hayden will be Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Ryder Cemetery in Lebanon.

Family requests visitation after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
