Tony Mitchell, 64

Mr. Tony William Mitchell of Campbellsville, son of the late William Luther “Billy” Mitchell and Mary Lou (Christie) Banks departed this life at his home on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 11, 1958, he was 64 years of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

Six siblings: Doretha Moore, Margaret Beck and husband Joseph, Ramona Lynn Moore, James Burgess and wife Marsha, Ronnie Burgess, and Carol Jean Griffie,

A niece and close friend: Linda Lee and husband John,

And several other family members and friends.

He was also preceded in death by two siblings: Jimmy Mitchell and Sharon Burgess.

At the request of Mr. Mitchell, cremation was accorded him by the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Campbellsville. A memorial service will be held in Indianapolis at a later date.

Kelly Michael Durham, 24

Kelly Michael Durham was born September 26, 1998 in Campbellsville, Kentucky to Kevin and Amy Durham. He was a 2016 graduate of Taylor County High School, where he was an active member of the band and choir programs. He was selected for All-State Chorus multiple times, all-state symphonic band twice, was the John Philip Sousa Outstanding Band Member winner, and was also a selected for the prestigious 2015 Governor’s School for the Arts program. He went on to Eastern Kentucky University where he earned a degree in music performance, performing as an integral part of the horn studio, orchestra, and symphonic wind ensemble. He was was a banjo player and vocalist in the EKU Bluegrass Ensemble, something he dearly loved. Kelly was a talented horn player, singer, guitarist, and banjo player who loved Mozart and Flatt and Scruggs with equal enthusiasm. He had recently started his first teaching job as the choral director for Larue County Schools, a job he loved and where he felt he’d finally found his calling.

Kelly was the oldest of three boys, and his brothers Eli and Reece were one of his greatest sources of pride. Being their big brother was a role that he cherished. Whether picking Bluegrass with Eli or hitting golf balls with Reece, Kelly was always cheering his brothers on and pushing them to be their best.

Kelly was engaged to the love of his life, Claire Quillen, of Corbin KY. Having met in the EKU music department, Kelly and Claire were very much in love and planning their life together.

In addition to his parents, Kevin and Amy Durham, his brothers Eli and Reece Durham, and his fiancée Claire Quillen, Kelly is survived by his grandparents Barry and Cheryl Blakeman, his grandfather James Durham and his wife Pam, who all adored him. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, including Will and Jamie Warren and their sons Brodie and Gradie of San Diego CA, Charlotte Hicklin of Madisonville, Mike and Sandy Durham of Campbellsville, Don and Valerie Pierson of Dresher PA, and Bernie and Karen Blakeman of Bowling Green KY, as well as a large extended family across Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri, North Carolina, and Utah. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Sue Durham in 2013, his uncle and namesake, Michael David Durham in 1977, his uncle John Hicklin in 2020, as well as all of his great-grandparents.

Kelly met Jesus face to face on Friday, October 7. He was 24 years and 12 days of age. He gave his life to Jesus on Easter Sunday 2006, and was a member of the Vineyard Church in Campbellsville.

A memorial service for Kelly Michael Durham will be Monday, October 10, 2022 at 6:30 P.M. at the Campbellsville Vineyard Church, 105 Pleasant Drive, Campbellsville, KY (New Columbia Road)

Visitation after 3:30 P.M. on Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorials are suggested to go where Kelly would most want them… to his brothers’ college fund. Those can be made at the funeral home or at the church.

Dwight Spencer “Spence” Wood, 75

Dwight Spencer “Spence” Wood, of Campbellsville, the son of the late Granville and Bernice (Finn) Wood, was born June 10, 1947 in Metcalfe County, KY and departed this life on Friday, October 7, 2022 in Louisville at University Hospital. He was 75 years of age.
He was a former salesman for Central Kentucky News Journal, a former landscape designer and was of the Christian faith.
Spence, as he was known by many, enjoyed growing orchids and would help others become a green thumb when it came to growing flowers and plants. He was also an avid photographer.
Survivors include his brother: Michael “Mickey” wood and wife Manette of Mooresville, Indiana; a nephew: Patrick Wood and wife Melissa of Batesville, Mississippi; a great-niece and nephew: Abigail and Nicholas Wood and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Dwight Spencer Wood, will be Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

Rev. Freddy Thompson will be officiating

Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday until time for the service.

Mary Frances Pepper, 75

Mary Frances Pepper, of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Ira and Flossie Mae (Clarkson) Followell, was born March 20, 1947 in Marion County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in Louisville at the Norton Women and Children’s Hospital. She was 75 years of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Woodlawn Christian Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and was a twenty-five year employee of Fruit of the Loom.

Mrs. Pepper attended the Johnson Bible College and enjoyed working with the youth at her church and was very fond of the church worship team.

Besides her parents, she was a preceded in death by a daughter: Janet Michelle Pepper and seven siblings: Carlton, Gerald, Billy and Rachel Followell, Helen Tungate, Phyllis Smothers and Maydell Orberson.

She united in marriage on November 26, 1971 in the Mannsville Christian Church to Garry Dale Pepper, who survives.

Also surviving is a daughter: LeAnn Rahill and husband Bob of Bowling Green; two sisters: Ivana Cox and Dorine Wilkerson and husband Bryant of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Kayla Michelle Bishop and husband Tim of Columbia, George Eric Perkins of Campbellsville and Robert Joseph Rahill of Bowling Green and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Mary Frances Pepper will be Friday, October 7, 2022 at 12 Noon at the Woodlawn Christian Church with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Bro. Fella Wilson will be officiating.

Visitation after 9:00 A.M. Friday until time for the service.

David Lynn White, 32

David Lynn White, of Campbellsville, the son of Sharon (Sallee) Jeffries and the late Donnie White, was born November 15, 1989 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Monday, October 3, 2022 in Campbellsville at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 32 years of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and has been disabled since he was nineteen.
David enjoyed walking, spending time with family, watching storage wars on TV and computer games.
Survivors include his mother: Sharon Jeffries and husband James, Sr.; two brothers: James White and James Jeffries, Jr; special aunt and caregiver: Connie Tucker and husband Chris and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for David Lynn White will be Friday, October 7, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
