Johnny Ray Parker, 79

Mr. Johnny Ray Parker of the Elk Horn community was born on April 7, 1943 to the late Arthur and Lorena (Antle) Parker. He departed this life on Monday, October 24, 2022 at the University of Kentucky Hospital, being 79 years, 6 months, and 17 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Whites Ridge General Baptist Church. Mr. Parker was a knitting machine mechanic at Fruit of the Loom until the plant’s closure. He was also a former employee of J&K Tool and a farmer. He will be remembered best as a devoted and cherished husband, father, and grandfather.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

Three children: Chris Parker and wife Billie of Campbellsville, Johnnie Lewis Parker of Elk Horn, and William Logan Parker of Bowling Green,

Three grandchildren: Marina Parker, Emory Parker, and Makayla Cecil,

Three siblings: Ron Parker, Burma Wheeler, and Pat Riggs,

And a host of other family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his wife: Regina Mae (Watson) Parker; two children: Michelle Watson and Cheryl Corbin; and three siblings: Harlin Parker, Allen Parker, and Iona White.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Parker on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM EST (10:00 AM CST) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Interment will follow in the Green River Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Dickie Rogers and Bro. Clay Wheeler will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 27, from 5:00-8:00 PM EST (4:00-7:00 PM CST).

Keith Gordon Miner,

Keith Gordon Miner, of the Breeding Community of Adair County, the son of the Gordon Miner of South Carolina and the late Teresa D’Aoust Miner was born April 15, 1967 in Syracuse, New York and departed this life on Sunday, October 23, 2022 in Glasgow. He was 55 years of age.

He was the owner or a complete swimming pool business and was of the Catholic Faith.

Keith enjoyed hunting and working with his hands. He could make or fix just about anything.

Besides his father, he is survived by his wife: Debra (Brady) Miner of Breeding; a son: Keith Fredrick Miner of Colorado; his step sons: Levi of Texas and Dakota of Florida.

Also surviving are two sisters and a brother” Alla Miner and wife Irene, Lisa Smith and husband Smitty and Sarah Miner all of New York; a step-son and a host of other relatives and friends.

Cremation was chosen

No services are planned at his time.

Jimmy Dewayne Hensley, 50

Jimmy Dewayne “Big Jim” Hensley, age 50 of Campbellsville, was born November 29, 1971 in Hardin County to James Lee Hensley and Wilma Erlene (Sprowles) and departed this life on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Taylor Regional Hospital.

He was a former metal fabricator and a logger and former employ of Anderson Hardwoods in Tompkinsville.

“Big Jim” enjoyed his coffee, watching westerns, farming, fishing, dry land fish hunting and watching tractor pulls, his favorite tractors were International and Farmall.

Even though he was not a United States Veterans, he still loved his country, very patriotic and would stand up for the ole’ USA.

Besides his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his step-father: Floyd Jump.

Survivors include his sons: Jacob Borders and Charlie Hensley both of Lebanon; a brother: Joseph Curry and wife Tamarra of Hodgenville; his life partner: Brenda Hill; his nieces and nephews: Skyler Hiers, Azrielle Curry, Damon Lei-Sam and Jaeden Curry and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family chose cremation.

There are no services planned at this time.

Herold Dalton Sluder, 77

Herold Dalton “PaPaw” Sluder, age 77 of Campbellsville, formerly of Louisville, the son of the late Leonard and Lue Dellie (Herron) Sluder was born July 17, 1945 in Louisville and passed away Friday, October 21, 2022 in Louisville at the Jewish Hospital.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Campbellsville and the Yellow Jacket Assembly of God in Florida while vacationing and was a former line supervisor at General Electric.

Herold enjoyed gardening, and cherished his time spent with his family, especially his grand kids and great-grandkids.

Survivors include his wife: Jeanette (Price) Sluder; his children: Jeffrey Dalton Sluder of Florida, Sandy Gail Ballinger and Pamela Jean Rogers, both of Mt. Washington and Gary Michael Miller of Campbellsville; a sister: Shirley Elgin of Indiana.

Also his grandchildren: Noah Glenn Sluder, Shawn Patrick Lyon and wife Ashley, Chrystal Dawn Lyon and husband Daryl, Tiffanie Elaine Ballinger and husband Stephen, Stephanie LeAnn Raymond and husband Thurman and Sarah Jeanette Fegett; eleven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Obra Brackney Sluder and a granddaughter: Taylor Raye Fegett.

The funeral service for Herold Dalton “PaPaw” Sluder will be Monday, October 24, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with entombment in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Bro. Ron Blair and Bishop Larry Dock will be officiating.

Corrine Brooks, 78

Corrine Cox Brooks of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Darlis Thelbert and Viola (Garrett) Cox, was born March 1, 1944 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at her home. She was 78 years of age.

She was a homemaker and of the Christian Faith.

Corrine enjoyed dancing, sewing, TV shows and spending time with family.

She united in marriage to Bluford Brooks, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include: her children: Sandra Lugo and husband Camilo of Greensburg, Calvin “Boddy” Lawson of Campbellsville, Danny Lawson and wife Patricia of Louisville, Rhonda Messer and husband Ronnie of Breckinridge County and Marsha Brooks of New Albany, Indiana; a brother: Curtis Cox and wife Ruby of English, Indiana and Bonnie Wooley of Campbellsville; her special friend: Paul Gunner of Calvary.

Also surviving are eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters: Orvin, Thelbert and Ray Cox, Bernice Lawson, Fern Tungate and Chloe Cox.

The funeral service for Corrine Cox Brooks will be Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with cremation to follow.
