William “Billy Ray” Philpott

William “Billy Ray” Philpott, son of the late Cecil and Lottie Philpott was born June 14, 1941 in Campbellsville. He passed away August 28, 2021 at age 80.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Billy Ray was a retired heavy equipment operator, and helped build interstates, parkways, and roads all across Kentucky.
He loved his family, his pets, auto racing, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and antiques.
Billy Ray united in marriage to Linda Gail Philpott on August 13, 1960. She preceded him in death December 20, 2011.
He is survived by one son and one daughter: Robbie Philpott and wife, Sandra of Campbellsville and Veronica Allen of Lexington; two grandsons: Cole Bland and Ethan Philpott both of Campbellsville and one sister, Pauline Pike of Campbellsville.
The family would like to thank Janet Wright for her excellent and compassionate care of Billy Ray.

Anna Lee Wise Johns

Anna Lee Wise Johns of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Forrest D. Wise Sr. and Ruby M. Childs was born June 11, 1937 in Taylor County. She died at 8:41 A.M., Saturday August 28, 2021 in Campbellsville. Age: 84
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church.
Anna Lee was a homemaker who dearly loved and supported her family. She always attended all their ballgames and horseshows. She was a long time chairman of the Horseshows for the Taylor County Fair Board and was active with 4H clubs. She loved all sports except football and was a huge UK fan. She enjoyed being outdoors and especially watching the hummingbirds that came to the feeders she had out for them.
She united in marriage to Tommy Johns November 9, 1958. He preceded her in death August 19, 2002.
She is survived by one son and one daughter: Terry Johns and wife, Carlotta and Debbie Browning and husband, Eddie of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Alex Browning and wife, Kaelyn, Matthew Johns and wife, Brandi, Tiffany Browning, Logan Johns and fiancée Haley Wright, and J.T. Johns of Campbellsville; Anna Lee was anxiously awaiting the birth of her first great-grandchild due in September; she is also survived by one brother, Carl Ray Wise and wife Mildred of Lexington; a sister-in law, Juanita Wise of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers: Beulah Smothers, Doris Jean Magers, Merle Wise, Norman B. Wise, and Forrest Wise Jr.

Tom Kidd

Tom Kidd of Campbellsville, son of the late Harlis and Bessie Childers Kidd, was born July 13, 1952 in Clay County, Kentucky. He died at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 23, 2021 in Campbellsville. Age: 69
He was a devoted man of faith, who had ministered to many people traditionally at several churches locally and around the surrounding counties, as well as one on one every chance he got. Tom was a self-taught artist who excelled in everything from oil paintings to instrument making starting at a young age. He loved working with his hands and worked for many years building cherry furniture at McMahan Furniture Company.
Tom united in marriage to Thelda McDonald April 13, 1973.
Besides his wife, Thelda Kidd of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son, Wayne Kidd and wife, Stephanie; five grandchildren: Zach Kidd, Victoria Kidd, Karsyn Kidd, Tanner Brockman and Autumn Brockman; three brothers: Harry Kidd and wife, Cathy, all of Campbellsville, Dexter Kidd and wife, Sondra of Beattyville and Harlis Kidd and wife, Judy of Michigan; several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters: Elmer Henry Kidd, Howard Kidd, Vernal Kidd, Mona Marchbanks, Ralph Kidd, Lou Emma Palmer and Sam Kidd.

Gloria “Jean” Karr

Ms. Gloria “Jean” Karr of Campbellsville, passed away from this life on Monday, August 23, 2021, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born on May 24, 1932, in London, Kentucky to Lucy Cobb Moore and Charlie Moore of Lily, Kentucky.
She was 89 years of old.
Jean was a Christian woman of the Baptist faith.
She was a retired teacher from Campbellsville Elementary.
She loved Kentucky basketball, fishing, traveling, feeding, and watching her hummingbirds and red birds. She loved her children and grandchildren and never met a stranger. Her favorite show was Golden Girls and musician, Kenny Rogers.
Heaven gained a beautiful soul, she has gone home to eternal peace and loved ones.
She leaves behind two sons: Michael Karr and wife, Julie and Sammy Karr and Megan Doss of Indiana; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a close friend, Mary Carr of Frankfort; caretakers: Don Taylor, Sara Riley, and Lisa Mejean of Campbellsville and a host of other family members and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Sam Karr and her son, Jeffrey Dale Karr of Campbellsville.

Clarence Colvin of Campbellsville, son of the late Luke Colvin and Lou Mamie Benningfield Colvin, was born June 19, 1932 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 11:05 P.M., Monday, August 23, 2021 in Campbellsville. Age: 89
He professed faith in Christ and had been attending Mt. Roberts Baptist Church.
Clarence was a retired employee of Coca Cola after forty years of service and a farmer.
He enjoyed joking around and hanging out with friends.
Clarence united in marriage to Elizabeth Warren August 12, 1954 and she preceded him in death April 19, 1997.
He is survived by two daughters and one son: Cary Noe of Campbellsville, Mary Colvin of Lexington and Don Edelen of Picayune, Mississippi; five grandchildren: Bethany Fulks and husband, Jonathan of Campbellsville, Paul Edelen of Biloxi, Mississippi, Noah Beard of Louisville, Allie Stoess and husband, Alec of Ruskin, Florida and Dylan Beard of Lexington; several great-grandchildren including Brylee Sprowles and Grace Fulks of Campbellsville; one brother, Milton Colvin of Horse Cave; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Omer Colvin, Gilbert Colvin and Flossie Campbell.
