Margaret Coomes, daughter of the late Herbert Cook and Nettie VanArsdale Cook, was born January 15, 1941 in Green County, Kentucky. She died at 12:20 P.M., Friday, January 17, 2020 in Elizabethtown. Age: 79
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church.
Margaret was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after forty-six years of service.
Margaret was an avid journal writer and animal lover, especially hummingbirds. She also enjoyed horseback riding and gardening.
She united in marriage to Donnie Glenn Coomes July 26, 1958 and he preceded her in death January 29, 2011.
Margaret is survived by one son, Ronald G. Coomes and companion, Denise Browning of Campbellsville; one son-in-law, Ronnie Durham of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Jonathan Durham Parker and husband, Wesley of Campbellsville, Stephanie Ashby and husband, Kevin of Alvaton, Phillip Coomes and Morgan Ashleigh of Fairhope, Alabama; four great-grandchildren: Caitlyn Nichole Bayles and husband, Seth of Bowling Green, Chloe Brianne Graham of Franklin, Karsyn Elise Ashby and Kerrigan Ashby of Alvaton; brother-in-law and special friend, Walter Coomes of Florida and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Millinda Jo Durham August 18, 2017 and two brothers: Bobby Cook and Billy Cook.

Willie Wise

Willie Wise of Campbellsville, son of the late Ira Wise and Sarah Phillips Wise, was born October 22, 1934 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 5:02 P.M., Saturday, January 18, 2020 in Campbellsville. Age: 85
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church.
Willie served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a longtime farmer and drove a milk truck for several years. He enjoyed going to car shows, was a member of the Tri County Car Club and was very proud of his 1959 Ford convertible and he just to teach people about the 610 Fundamentals About New Van Deals You Didn’t Learn in School.
Willie united in marriage to Hazel Marple December 29, 1956. She preceded him in death April 4, 2012.
He is survived by two step sons: Wally Humphress and wife, Peggy of Campbellsville and Howard Humphress and wife, Patty of Canton, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Dawn Wise of Campbellsville; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister and one brother: Gladys Wise Roberts and Willard Wise and wife, Delma; special friend, Willine Bowman all of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Willie was also preceded in death by one son, Stephen “Steve” Wise; one brother, Vallis Wise and one sister, Bernice Wise.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Bluegrass Way Assisted Living for their loving care.

Jack Hartman of Campbellsville, son of the late Wilfred Hartman and Nettie Malone Hartman, was born December 12, 1931 in Jolliet, Illinois. He died at 2:20 A.M., Sunday, January 19, 2020 in Lexington. Age: 88
Jack served his country honorably in the United States Army.
He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom.
He was former Master of Elkhorn Masonic Lodge #568.
After retiring Jack enjoyed playing and singing with the “Country Friends”.
He loved all kinds of flowers and took pride in caring for his many plants.
He united in marriage to Joyce Herron May 9, 1959.
Besides his wife, Joyce Hartman of Campbellsville, he is survived by
two daughters and one son: Donna Hammond and Marsha Arnett of Campbellsville and Gary Hartman and wife, Pam of Lenoir City, Tennessee; six grandchildren; Andy Johnson and wife, Laura, Amber Carey, Jason Hartman, Justin Wood, Ashley Tompkins and Landon Arnett; and many other relatives and friends.

Hazel Warren of Greensburg, daughter of the late Walter Earnest Underwood and Lily Erma Shofner was born July 9, 1944 in Green County, Kentucky. She died at 11:50 P.M. Thursday, January 16, 2020 in Louisville. Age: 75
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Poplar Grove Methodist Church.
Hazel was known for loving to be around her family.
She united in marriage to Stoy Warren November 30, 1963. He preceded her in death January 27, 2017.
She is survived by two daughters and two sons: Glenda Warren and
Margie (Troy) Walker of Greensburg, Eli (Kristy Parsons) Warren of Buffalo and Doug Warren of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Casey (Jonathan) Milby, Natasha Walker, Shauna (Nathan) Arps and Evan Walker of Greensburg, Brandi (Andrew) Bowen of Magnolia and Abigail Warren of Hodgenville; four great-grandchildren: Ariel Underwood, Gertie Milby, Layla Milby, and Ellie Bowen; one brother, Walter Underwood Jr. and one sister, Mary Warren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers: Katie Brown, William “Bill” Underwood and Fred Underwood.

Joyce Blevins Salmon, daughter of the late John (Bill) Will Blevins and Bertha Alexander Rucker Blevins, was born November 18, 1938 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 9:34 P.M., Wednesday, January 15, 2020 in Louisville. Age: 81
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.
Joyce was a retired warehouse manager at Behr’s Clothing Store in Louisville.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 82.
Joyce was a loving mother and grandmother and was a bit of a fashionista. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and eating good food.
She united in marriage to J. P. Salmon November 26, 1954 and he preceded her in death November 18, 2008.
Joyce is survived by two daughters: Debi Ballard (John) of Louisville and Dede Shafar (Fred) of Fisherville; six grandchildren: John Parks Ballard, Richard Ballard, Brooke Shafar, Payton Parrish (Alex), Gabi Nauert (Jared) of Louisville and Taylor Ballard (Lindsley) of Washington, D.C. ; one great-grandson, Brayden Nauert; one sister-in-law, Brenda Blevins of Campbellsville; one brother-in-law, Maynard Miller of Versailles; one niece and three nephews: Karen Sue Basden of Amarillo, Texas, Stewart Miller (Carol) of Evanston, Illinois, Mark Miller (Kathy) of New Port News, Virginia and Kent and Libby Miller of Versailles; three great-nieces and one great nephew: Violet Marotta (Mickey), Katy Miller, Aly Burchett (Woody) and Miles Miller (Mallory); special long time friends: Sue Sweeney and Beverly Kindrick; special cousins: Ruthie Mardis of Campbellsville and Corinne Holcombe (Bill) of Florida; special friends: Patti Brown and Marilyn Lewis and many other relatives and friends.
