Matt Burress of Elk Horn, son of Toni Miller Burress and the late Rodney Burress, was born January 10, 1990 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 6:38 A.M., Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in Elk Horn. Age: 29
He professed faith in Christ and attended of Feathersburg Church of God.
He was an employee of Murakami Manufacturing in Campbellsville.
Matt was an avid hunter, enjoyed farming with his father and brother and was a UK Wildcat fan. His children meant the world to him and he was very proud of them, as both their father and their coach.
Matt married the love of his life, Megan Parrish, on September 8, 2018.
Besides his wife, Megan Burress, he is survived by two sons and one daughter: Andrew Blake Burress, Mason Alexander Burress and Adalynn Grace Burress; his mother, Toni Burress; one brother, Adam Burress and wife, Amanda; one nephew, Peyton Lee Burress, all of Elk Horn; his maternal grandmother, Rose Miller of Liberty; his paternal grandparents, Bobby Lee and Dorothy Jean Burress of Elk Horn; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Chris and Regina Parrish of Campbellsville; one brother-in-law, Matt Parrish and wife, Salena; one niece, Keylee Parrish, all of Campbellsville; aunts and uncles: Tommy Miller of Liberty, Debbie Miller of Shelbyville and Allen and Kecia Burress of Elk Horn and many other relatives and friends.
Matt was also preceded in death by a daughter, Maitlynn Leigh Burress February 21, 2012.

 Rev. Ben Spencer of Campbellsville, son of the late James Spencer and Myrtle Burnett Spencer, was born January 13, 1927 in Wolfe County, Kentucky. He died at 12:00 P.M., Thursday, October 10, 2019 in Campbellsville. Age: 92
He was a faithful servant of Christ and devoted minister for over sixty-three years. He, along with others built the East Campbellsville Church of God and its campground. He was the pastor at East Campbellsville Church of God for forty plus years and was pastor emeritus. He was involved in mission work in Haiti and Jamaica and raised money for the Fe India Children’s Mission. He was an evangelist and had a radio ministry for twenty-five years. He was a talented musician, songwriter, writing many soul winning songs and wood craftsman.
He loved his family and his church family. He, without a doubt led hundreds if not thousands to Christ. Only heaven will show the impact of his life and ministry.
Bro. Spencer was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army and United States Air Force and received the World War II Victory Ribbon and the Army Occupational Medal.
He united in marriage to Shirley Saunders April 19, 1956.
Besides his wife, Shirley Spencer of Campbellsville, he is survived by three sons and five daughters: Marty Spencer and wife, Dana, Brian Spencer and wife, Michelle and Tonya Hagan and husband, Greg of Campbellsville, Djuana Nolley and husband, Greg of Elk Horn, Dwayne Spencer and wife, Tammy of Cookeville, Tennessee, Lori Perez and husband, Ramiro of Elizabethton, Tennessee, Rhonda Nunez and husband, Luis of Homestead, Florida and Barbara Jean Swenson and husband, Pete of Lebanon, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Denise Spencer of Campbellsville; thirty-seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Viola Little of Wolfe County, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends, including his family at East Campbellsville Church of God.
He was also preceded in death by two sons, Bro. Robbie Spencer and Stephen Spencer; a grandson, Dalin Spencer and several brothers and sisters.

Marie Garnett of Campbellsville, daughter of the late James Andy Bell and Bessie Carlisle Bell, was born December 6, 1936 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 6, 2019 in Campbellsville. Age: 82
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.
She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom for thirty years.
Marie united in marriage to Jack Garnett January 9, 1952 and he preceded her in death September 8, 2018.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Clark and husband, Kim of Campbellsville
one granddaughter, Jackie Fair of Campbellsville; three great-grandchildren: Thomas Hafley, Jacob Hafley and Jaclyn Fair of Campbellsville; one sister, Linda Sue Pierce and husband, Henry of Campbellsville; two sisters-in-law: Joanne Garnett Waller of Campbellsville and Judy Bell of Florida; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Marie was also preceded in death by brother, J. D. Bell.

Dorothy VanDyke Barnett of Alvaton, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Chester VanDyke and Lottie Cox VanDyke, was born May 9, 1920 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 9:10 P.M., Sunday, October 6, 2019 in Bowling Green. Age: 99
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, which she loved dearly and always enjoyed the visits by some of the members.
She was a retired telephone operator with General Telephone Company for forty years.
Dorothy was a proud lady who always liked to look her best but wasn’t afraid to don a pair of coveralls and set tobacco and do farm chores. She was an immaculate housekeeper and a great cook. She was known to be a spicy and resourceful lady as best told in a story about using her skills as a telephone operator to call the Commanding Officer on her son, Bob’s, ship when he was in the Mediterranean, resulting in the officer ordering Bob to “call his mother.”
Dorothy united in marriage to Edmundston “Clem” Hill and he preceded her in death in 1941.
She later united in marriage to Leslie Barnett and he preceded her in death February 18, 2001.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Robert “Bob” and Nancy Hill of Alvaton; two granddaughters: Nancy Annette Hill of Bowling Green and Cynthia Lynette Swafford of Campbellsville; three great-grandchildren: Ryan Swafford, Emily Swafford and Elizabeth Swafford; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Barnett; a grandson, Anthony C. Hill and one brother and two sisters: Chester Gordon VanDyke, Ruth VanDyke and Louise White.

She is survived by one son and one daughter: Reagan Lamb and wife, Diane of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Leah Lamb of Jacksonville, Florida; two granddaughters and one grandson: Ryann K. Lamb of Mississippi, Jami Lamb of Florida and Andrew Lamb and wife, Sarah of Florida; two sisters: Dorothy Bowman and Virginia Ingram of Knoxville, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
