Sarah Laverne Crawley, 86, of Campbellsville, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019, at Treyton Oak Towers in Louisville, Kentucky. Daughter of the late Robert Lewis Gupton and Sarah (Sally) Katherine Sanders Gupton, she was born February 18, 1933, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she taught Children’s Sunday School classes, Girls in Action, Acteens, and was an active member of the Women’s Missionary Union. She was retired from Fruit of the Loom and had worked at Victor’s and Bobbie Jean’s in Campbellsville, and as a bookkeeper for Superior Radio in in Lebanon, where her husband was co-owner. Sarah was united in marriage to Dennis Wilmore Crawley, Jr. on April 10, 1950. She was known for her sewing and creating many quilts and animals for family and friends. Sarah and her late husband, Dennis (Jr.), were known as loving, generous people who gave of their time and ministered to numerous people in their church and community. They gladly opened their home to many and were affectionately known as “Mom and Pop.”
Sarah is survived by two sons: Doug Crawley and wife, Debra, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, and Tim Crawley and wife, Joyce, of Prospect; one son-in-law, Terry Joe Stone and wife, Jeri, of Campbellsville; nine grandchildren: Kim Arnold and husband, Steve, of Campbellsville; Kelly Joe Stone and wife, Dr. Monica Stone, of Greensburg; Daniel Crawley and wife, Amanda, of Madisonville; Dyanna Jenkins and husband, Cody, of Charlotte, North Carolina; Danae Crawley of Charlotte, North Carolina; Brooke Cotton and husband, Chris, of Charlotte, NC; Austin Crawley and wife, Elena, of Louisville; Tyler Crawley and wife Kaitlyn, of Louisville; and Cody Crawley of Louisville; ten great-grandchildren: Chelsey Stone, Chandler Jenkins, Claire Jenkins, Carter Jenkins, Thomas Stone, Jake Stone, Lila Stone, Jillian Crawley, Jocelyn Crawley, and Joel Crawley; two brothers: George Gupton and wife, Carolyn, of Campbellsville; and Lawrence Gupton and wife, Audrey, of Greensburg; two sisters-in-law, Lena Mae Gupton, of Campbellsville; and Marie Gupton, of Campbellsville; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Crawley; a daughter, Gerri Stone; a sister, Opal Beyl; and six brothers: Richard Sweeney and wife, Virginia; Bob Gupton and wife, Alma; Tom Gupton and wife, Geneva; Charlie Gupton and wife, Evelyn; Lewis Gupton, and Bill Gupton.

Roberda McCubbin of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Arthur Hayes and Bessie Sidebottom Hayes, was born September 28, 1925 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 8:20 A.M., Saturday, August 17, 2019 in Campbellsville. Age: 93
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she also served as Elder.
Roberda was a former custodian at Campbellsville Public Library.
She united in marriage to Elmer “Boss” McCubbin December 22, 1945. He preceded her in death April 20, 1968.
She is survived by one daughter and two sons: Sue Ann York and husband, Gary and Mike McCubbin of Campbellsville and Danny McCubbin and wife, Sharon of Webster; eight grandchildren: nineteen great-grandchildren: one brother, Clyde Hayes and wife, Ruth Ann of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters: Reta Faye Curry and Jane Carol McCubbin and one brother, Auburn Hayes.

Vicki Carol Self Collette of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ernest Self and Mattie Morris Self, was born April 25, 1949 in Warren County, Kentucky. She died at 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 12, 2019 in Hodgenville. Age: 70
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She was an avid fan of UK basketball and loved her fur babies.
Vicki is survived by a half-sister, Jean Price of Bowling Green; several cousins and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters: Jinger Renee Collette March 20, 2010 and Cathy Collette November 26, 2013.

Barbara Warren Dobson of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Clarence W. Newton and Iris Gaines Newton, was born March 28, 1933 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 1:32 A.M., Saturday, August 10, 2019 in Louisville. Age: 86
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church in Greensburg.
Barbara was a retired Loan officer at Community Trust Bank.
She loved spending time with her family, cooking, dancing, travelling and shopping. She also enjoyed country and gospel music and loved helping out and offering a hand to anyone in need
She united in marriage to Lewis E. Dobson May 9, 2009.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons: Craig Janes of Dallas, Texas and Steven Janes and wife, Carrie of Jamestown; two grandchildren: Leticia Janes Reynolds and husband, Adam of Campbellsville, Samuel Janes and wife, Hannah of Lexington; two step-grandchildren: Elizabeth Hopper and husband, Jansen and Jacob Phelps of Jamestown; two great-grandchildren: Delaney Catherine Staton and Noah Reynolds; two brothers: Damon A. Newton of Tipp City, Ohio and James L. Newton and wife, Sondra of Ludlow Falls, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Woodruff “Woody” L. Newton.

Johnnie Pennington of Mannsville, son of the late Vance Pennington and Helen Belton Pennington, was born April 7, 1938 in Casey County, Kentucky. He died at 9:15 A.M., Tuesday, August 6, 2019 in Campbellsville. Age: 81
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mannsville Christian Church.
Johnnie retired his comb and shears after over sixty years of telling stories and sharing laughs with all who sat in his chair. For more than fifty years, if you couldn’t find him in the barbershop, he could be found selling cars from his lot. Johnnie served on the school board for twenty-one years and was also a member of the Elkhorn Masonic Lodge #568 F&AM. His smile and wave will always be remembered in the Mannsville Community and his good natured personality will be missed.
He united in marriage to Dorothy Larimore in 1963.
Besides his wife, Dorothy Pennington of Campbellsville, he is survived by three sons and one daughter: Barry Pennington and wife, Rhonda, Terry Pennington, Brad Pennington and Bridgett Rodgers and husband, Ricky of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Olivia Feltner and husband, Matt, Gabby Benningfield and husband, Clay, Braxton Pennington and Joey Benham; one step grandson, Clint Rodgers and wife, Elizabeth; six great-grandchildren: Lenox Feltner, Ledger Feltner, Penny Benningfield, Ellie Benningfield, Amaurie Benham and Ivory Benham; three step great-grandchildren: Cailie Rodgers, Edward Rodgers and Grant Rodgers; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Myra Roberts March 19, 2001 and Margaret Gabehart September 10, 2008 and a step-grandson, Christopher Robin “Buzz” Rodgers August 30, 2018.
