Kathleen “Kathy” Smith of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Burton Cosby and Stachia Yeary Cosby, was born December 3, 1947, in Bell County, Kentucky. She died at 7:30 P.M., Monday, February 5, 2018 in Campbellsville. Age: 70
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Spurlington United Methodist Church.
Kathleen was an employee of Internal Medicine Associates in Campbellsville.
She united in marriage to Gerald Smith January 3, 1981.
Besides her husband, Gerald Smith of Campbellsville, she is survived by five sons: Raymond Dobson of Ohio, James Allen Dobson of Elizabethtown, Mike Smith and wife, Chassity of Lebanon, David Smith and wife, Vicki and Thomas Smith of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Krysten Smith, Brandon Cain, Tyler Dobson, Alex Smith, Aiden Smith and Adalyn Smith; one brother and two sisters: Kenneth Cosby and wife, Deborah of Texarkana, Texas, Betty Harlan and Barbara Deemer and husband, Joe of Louisville; her mother-in-law, Helen Smith of Campbellsville; one brother-in-law, Barry Smith and wife, Kim of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Ruth Halcomb of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ted Allen and Dona Hale Allen, was born July 11, 1939, in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. She died at 9:11 A.M., Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in Campbellsville. Age: 78
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Elk Horn Baptist Church.
Ruth was a retired supervisor from Adam & H. Bartle Sewing in Richmond, Indiana
She united in marriage to John Halcomb September 22, 1959 and he preceded her in death February 4, 2003.
She is survived by one sister and two brothers: Velma Bond and husband, Curt of Campbellsville, Gillus Allen of Orlando, Kentucky and Virgil Allen of Richmond, Indiana; three special nieces: Debbie Gilpin, Gina Byrd and husband, Donnie Wayne, Sara Mardis and husband, Justin of Campbellsville; several other nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters: Eddie Allen, Teddie Allen, Willie Allen, William Allen, Easter Allen, Laura Owens Allen, Gertrude Smith, Anna Lee Mullins, Marie Allen, Delbert Allen and Orba Allen.

Fannie England Hall of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ira England and Sular Janes England, was born May 28, 1926, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 6:45 P.M., Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in Mayfield. Age: 91
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Fannie was a retired employee of Kroger in Campbellsville after many years of service.
She united in marriage to Carl Hall May 29, 1954 and he preceded her in death April 12, 2007.
She is survived by two daughters: Terrie Hall of Campbellsville and Debbie Samples and husband, Kenny of Mayfield; three grandchildren: Ken Samples and wife, Samantha of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Grant Samples and wife, Katie and Anna Samples of Mayfield; two great-grandchildren: Connor Samples of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Mason Samples of Mayfield; one brother, Herbert England of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Julia Ann Hall and five brothers and two sisters: Ira England, Jr., James England, Charles England, Raymond England, Truman England, Avis Bright and Mary Lollar.

Rev. Charles E. Harris, Sr.

Rev. Charles E. Harris, Sr. of Campbellsville, son of the late Charles Lee Harris and Mattie Sappington Harris, was born January 16, 1920 near Saltillo, Mississippi. He died at 3:55 A.M., January 27, 2018 at the age of ninety-eight in Elizabethtown.
Rev. Harris served his country honorably in the United States Army Air Corps as a mechanic during World War II. He was a Bible scholar and had studied at different schools in Mississippi. After his graduation from Union University in 1955, he taught in Jefferson, Webster and Taylor Counties. Rev. Harris also pastored churches in Mississippi and in several counties in Kentucky including: Union, Webster, Hart and Taylor Counties after attending the Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville. In 2010, he received the honor of Pastor Emeritus for Friendship Baptist Church.
Charles united in marriage to Annie Matkins May 17, 1941. After sixty-eight years of marriage, she preceded him in death April 8, 2009.
He is survived by three daughters and three sons: Barbara Harris Ramsey of Dixon, Dorothy Kay Bowers and husband, Mike of Creedmoor, North Carolina, Deborah Harris Simpson of Campbellsville, Charles E. Harris, Jr. and wife, Carol Freer Harris of Morganfield, John Allen Harris and William Larry Harris of Campbellsville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ellen Harris in 1956, an infant grandson, Joshua Bowers; two sons-in-law: William “Bill” Simpson and John S. Ramsey, Jr. and a daughter-in-law, Dianne Owens Harris.

Mel Gilbert

Mel Gilbert of Campbellsville, son of the late Arthur Gilbert and Lottie Howard Gilbert, was born April 14, 1940, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He died at 4:35 P.M., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family at age 77.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Green River Memorial Baptist Church.
Mel was a former employee of Cox Interior and owned and operated a cleaning business for many years. He was very active in the Lions Club where he received several awards for his many years of service.
He united in marriage to Marla Whitley February 20, 1981.
Besides his wife of thirty-seven years, Marla Gilbert, he is survived by one daughter and five sons: Lisa Blandford and husband, Tommy of Lebanon, Brad Akridge and wife, Regina of Campbellsville, Brian Gilbert and wife, Christy of St. Mary, Georgia, Greg Gilbert and wife, Lisa of Brentwood, Tennessee, Tim Gilbert of Atlanta, Georgia and Jeff Gilbert and wife, Nicole of Germany; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlotte Earls of Bowling Green; his mother in-law, Lorene Whitley of Campbellsville; two brothers-in-law: Roger Whitley and wife, Kathy of Campbellsville and Robert Smith of Bowling Green; one sister-in-law, Surple Gilbert of Gallant, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Gerald Gilbert and Patricia Smith.
The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Hosparus for the wonderful care given to the whole family.
