Roger “Doc” York of Campbellsville, son of the late Preston York and Madeline Grider York, was born May 4, 1961, in Cumberland County, Kentucky. He died at 7:41 P.M., Friday, September 30, 2016 in Corbin. Age: 55
He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.
Roger was a proud member of the National Guard. He was known as a handyman and could do numerous things. He worked in landscaping, mowing yards, delivering furniture and whatever needed to be done.
He united in marriage to Tammy Harris December 27, 1986.
Besides his wife, Tammy York of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and one daughter: Andy York and wife, Elizabeth and Kim York; five grandchildren: Madison York, Alexis Mings, Morgan York, Sean Mings and Mason York all of Campbellsville; three sisters and three brothers: Ruby Burton and husband, Albert, Carol Brown, Bernice York, Richard York and wife, Shirley of Columbia, Randall York of Cumberland County and Marvin York and wife, Kathy of Campbellsville: father-in-law, Siebert Harris of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

James Shelton Raikes of Elk Horn, son of the late Lucian Raikes and Ella Smothers Raikes, was born December 18, 1928, in Marion County, Kentucky. He died at 5:42 A.M., Monday, September 26, 2016 in Elk Horn. Age: 87
He professed faith in Christ and attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by one brother and four sisters: Bill Raikes and wife, Wilma of Bradfordsville, Ruth Rakes of Campbellsville, Helen McCarty and husband, Donald and Wanda Carpenter of Lebanon and Roberta Hourigan and husband, Eugene of Danville; special niece, Shelby Clark of Campbellsville; several other nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters: George Lem Raikes, Ida Mary Price and Minnie Lee Scandland.

Nancy E. Miller

nancy-e-millerNancy E. Miller of Campbellsville, daughter of the late I. L. Miller and Mallie Graham Miller, was born September 17, 1916, in Taylor County, Kentucky.
She died at 11:29 A.M., Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in Campbellsville.
Age: 100
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She had received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature from the University of Kentucky in 1938, a Bachelor Degree of Library Science from the University of Illinois in 1942 and a Master’s Degree in Library Science from the University of Illinois in 1947.
She was a retired law librarian with Ohio State University and had been offered a position with Harvard School of Law but declined due to their requirement of mandatory retirement at age 70. Ohio State University later required her to take retirement at age 70, much to her chagrin.
She was an avid reader and donated her books to the Campbellsville University Library and Taylor County Public Library.
She and her cousin, Adeline Miller, had traced the family genealogy back to Sarah Crowe arriving as an indentured servant in Philadelphia.
She is survived by one niece, Maude Miller and husband, Brian Williams of
Ft. Thomas, Kentucky; one nephew, Michael Miller and wife, Paula of Jackson, Kentucky; three great-nephews: Dr. Michael Douglas Miller, II of Oakland, California, Major Grant H. Hill and wife, Ileanna of Ft. Hood, Texas and Major Andrew Hill and wife, Kristine of Ft. Lewis, Washington; one great-niece, Meadow Williams; three great-great-nieces: Hadley, Harper and Eleanora; one cousin, Adeline Miller of Campbellsville and many other friends.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, I. K. Miller.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church.
She united in marriage to Wesley “Shorty” Parrott April 20, 1946. He preceded her in death April 11, 2001.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Pam Parrott of Jamestown; one granddaughter, Deanna Merrill and husband, John of Columbus, Ohio; one great-grandchild, Jayden Merrill; two brothers and three sisters: Buel Hunt and wife, Betty of Augusta, Georgia, Darlene Gilpin and husband, Cecil, Phyllis Phillips and husband, George, Terry Hunt and wife, Paula of Campbellsville and Beverly Duggin of Louisville; two sisters-in-law: LaQuita Hunt and Doris Hunt of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Donald Ray Parrott and Michael Kent Parrott in infancy; two grandsons: Stephen Phillip Parrott and Michael Lynn Parrott in infancy and three brothers: Coleman Hunt, Carl Hunt and Shelby Hunt.

Michael R. Callahan of Campbellsville, son of Gloria Christie Callahan and the late Jesse R. Callahan, was born May 12, 1960, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 12:01 P.M., Sunday, September 25, 2016 in Campbellsville. Age: 56
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church where he was a former elder.
He was a former I T technician at Ingersoll-Rand Co.
He enjoyed numerous projects and activities such as competition pistol sports shooting in the IDPA and USPSA, fishing, landscaping and working with electronics. He loved taking things apart, seeing how they work and building more of them and he loved helping others with his skills.
He united in marriage to Brenda Goode February 22, 1980.
Besides his wife, Brenda Goode Callahan of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son, Benjamin C. Callahan of Campbellsville; two fur babies, Emma and Izzy; his mother, Gloria Christie Callahan of Campbellsville; one sister, Carolyn Thomas and husband, J. R. of Campbellsville, one brother, Phillip Callahan and wife, Carolyn of Tallahassee, Florida; his mother and father-in-law, Johnny and Onia Abell; one sister-in-law who was more like a sister, Regena Russell and husband, Richard of Campbellsville; two nieces and one nephew, Lisa Pyles of Shelbyville, Andrew Callahan of Tallahassee, Florida and Christa Thomas of Campbellsville; three aunts: Mildred Faulconer of Knifley, Marilynn Christie Fusco of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Sandra Christie Sartin of Tallahassee, Florida and many other relatives and friends.
