James Earl Roots 2

James Earl Roots of Campbellsville, son of the late Charlie Emmitt Roots and Nora Jane Acrey Roots, was born November 11, 1925, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 10:55 A.M., Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in Campbellsville. Age: 89
He professed faith in Christ and was a member and Deacon of Campbellsville Baptist Church for fifty-one years.
He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army.
He was a retired employee of the U. S. Postal Service after thirty years of service.
He united in marriage to Opal Baumgardner June 30, 1951.
Besides his wife, Opal Roots of Campbellsville, he is survived by one daughter, Kathy Roots Milby of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Ariel Katlyn Milby of Campbellsville and James Morgan Milby of Cincinnati, Ohio; one great-grandson, Julian Atlas Milby of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters: Charles Roots, William Roots, Everett Roots, Rindie Malone, Irene Maupin and Kate Roots.

Opha Nathaniel Lyons, of Campbellsville, formerly of Battletown, son of the late
Rev. Stanley Lyons and Anna Mae Dodson Lyons, was born in Breckinridge County, Kentucky, October 31, 1959. He died at 5:40 A.M., Tuesday, September 15, 2015, in Campbellsville. Age: 55
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Wolf Creek Baptist Church in Battletown.
He was a former owner of Lyons & Sons Construction Company.
He united in marriage to Celia Davis March 19, 1988.
Besides his wife, Celia Davis Lyons, he is survived by one son, Nathaniel Dakota Lyons of Campbellsville; one brother and four sisters: Zandra Bruner and husband, Boyce of Mt. Washington, Rev. Douglas Lyons and wife, Patty, Jodetta Hale and husband, Billy of Bowling Green, Davalyn Troxle and husband, Jr. of Hardinsburg and Clotene Courier and husband, Russ of Georgetown; one brother-in-law, Rick Robbins of Hardinsburg; his mother-in-law, Sandra Davis of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Cavella Robbins.

M. Louise Russell of Indianapolis, Indiana formerly of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Covie Russell and Elsie Coakley Russell was born June 9, 1935 in Campbellsville, Kentucky. She died at 10:52 A.M., Monday, September 14, 2015 in Indianapolis. Age: 80
She professed faith in Christ and was of the Protestant faith.
She was a retired employee of Taylor County RECC.
She is survived by one brother and one sister, Howard “Joe” Russell and wife, Maurine of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Barbara Sneed and husband, J.B. of Greenwood, Indiana; several nieces and nephews one great niece and two great nephews and many other relatives and friends.

George Phillip Thompson of Campbellsville, son of the late Sam Thompson and Alice Thompson, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, November 19, 1947. He died at 3:53 P.M., Monday, September 14, 2015, in Campbellsville. Age: 67
He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.
He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
He united in marriage to Eva Atwood August 19, 1967.
Besides his wife, Eva Atwood Thompson of Campbellsville, he is survived by three sons: Chris Thompson and wife, Renee, Mark Thompson and Jason Thompson and wife, April of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Airel Thompson, John Thompson, Amber Thompson and Austin Thompson; one step-granddaughter, Allie McKibbon; three brothers and two sisters: Paul Thompson and wife, Brenda, Bobby Thompson and wife, Alice and Billy Thompson and wife, Carolyn of Campbellsville, Jauhnell Cox of Somerset and Kathey Reed and husband, Bill of Winchester; two sisters-in-law: Sandy Jeffries and husband, Thurman and Trisha Adams; three brothers-in-law: Gene Atwood and wife, Velma, Danny Atwood and wife, Nancy and Vernon Atwood and wife, Lana; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Guy McAnelly of Campbellsville, son of the late J. G. McAnelly and Pauline Evans McAnelly, was born in Casey County, Kentucky, January 4, 1933. He died at 2:09 P.M., Sunday, September 13, 2015, in Campbellsville. Age: 82
He was baptized and became a member of Campbellsville Christian Church on October 22, 1944. He served as a faithful member, including serving as a Deacon and Elder for over thirty years
Guy loved and was very loyal to his many friends and family. His many nieces and nephews were very important to him.
Guy began his career at Tennessee Gas Transmission, working ten years before going into the trucking industry for the next ten years.
He graduated from Campbellsville High School in 1951, attended Campbellsville College then was drafted in the Army. After two years, he was honorably discharged. He spent the next two years at the University of Kentucky and graduated in 1957.
He united in marriage to Lois Money July 19, 1957.
Besides his wife of fifty-eight years, Lois Money McAnelly of Campbellsville, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Susan Elaine and Mark Wigley of Acworth, Georgia; one grandson, Evan McAnelly Wigley of Acworth, Georgia and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Alan Glen McAnelly June 30, 1966.
