Mabel Allen Smith of Campbellsville, daughter of the late John W. Allen and Nannie White Allen, was born in Barren County, Kentucky, October 31, 1924. She died at 2:58 P.M., Monday, August 18, 2014 in Campbellsville.     Age: 89

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church.

She retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after forty-seven years of service.

She united in marriage to Ralph Smith January 28, 1944. He preceded her in death October 26, 1986.

She is survived by one son and one daughter: Tom Smith and wife, Kathy of Cartersville, Georgia and Anne Gorin and husband, Walt of Greensburg; five grandchildren: Rev. Andy Smith and wife, Kim of Cookeville, Tennessee, LCDR Thomas Smith (USN) and wife, Joanna of London, England, Steve Smith and wife, Ashley of Dallas, Georgia, Michelle Gorin of Lexington and Jill Frost and husband, Jon of Nashville, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren: Erika Smith and Daniel Smith of Cookeville, Tennessee and Kate Frost of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Clara Lee Rafferty of Campbellsville; two special caregivers, Annette Dengel and Brittany Judd; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Dr. Damon E. Allen, James W. Allen and Josie Ann Newcomb.

Jewell Dean Hash Chastain, of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Bud Hash and Ollie Mae Sutherland Hash was born June 30, 1938 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 2:55 P.M., Saturday, August 16, 2014 in Campbellsville.     Age: 76

She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and Mr. Gatti’s Restaurant.

She united in marriage to Carlos Chastain June 26, 1953. He preceded her in death January 13, 2007.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Carla and Kenny Bennett and Melinda and Terry Cox of Campbellsville and Terry and Robert McBride of Henry, Illinois; five grandchildren: Kris Bennett and wife, Julie of Spring Hill Tennessee, Heather Orne of Franklin, Tennessee, Stephanie Scalos of Dunedin, Florida, Katie Elzy and husband, Jason of Woodland Hills, California and Bobby McBride of Henry, Illinois; four great-grandchildren: Carly Orne, Audrey Orne, Tatum Bennett and Jackson Elzy; two brothers, Earl Hash of Campbellsville and Buddy Hash of Lakeland, Florida several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister: Gene Allen Hash, James E. Hash, Gilbert Veachel Hash and Christine Puryear.

Joshua Denney 002Joshua Zachariah Denney of Campbellsville, son of Kaye Terronez Hunt and Dale Ross Denney, was born August 26, 1982, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  He died Friday, August 8, 2014 in Bardstown.     Age: 31

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He is survived by one daughter, A. J. Vandenboss of Greensburg; his mother, Kaye Hunt of Campbellsville; his father Dale Denney and wife, Kathie of Monticello; one brother and one sister: Justin Dale Denney of Denver, Colorado and Kathie Brewer of Buffalo; grandparents, Vacilio Eugene and Ruth Terronez of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Rev. Gene Hall of Campbellsville, son of the late Albert Hall and Bessie Hash Hall, was born July 22, 1933 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  He died at 7:04 A.M., Saturday, August 9, 2014 in Campbellsville.     Age: 81

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was an ordained Baptist minister for over 50 years and served churches in Taylor, Green and Casey Counties. He was Transportation Director and Social Service Director for Taylor County School System for many years. He served on Taylor County Hospital board for nineteen years and served as chaplain for Campbellsville-Taylor County Rescue for many years.

He united in marriage to Christine Deener August 14, 1954.

Besides his wife, Christine Deener Hall, he is survived by one son, David Hall and wife, Donna; one son-in-law, Donald Weeks; one granddaughter, Chloe Eva Hall; one brother, Buster Hall and wife, Peggy; one sister-in-law, Fannie Hall; mother-in-law, Eva Deener all of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by one son and one daughter: Stephen Dean Hall December 4, 1964 and Dr. Bobbie Jean Hall December 28, 2013and two brothers: Carl Hall and Earl Hall.

James Freeman Jim CurryJames Freeman “Jim” Curry of Campbellsville and Bellevue, Washington, son of the late Noah Marvin Curry and Mandy Bird Young Curry, was born April 7, 1931 in Green County, Kentucky.  He died at 10:39 A.M., Sunday, August 3, 2014 in Bellevue, Washington.

Age: 83

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the South Campbellsville Baptist Church.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army, was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, and was retired from the United States Army Special Forces (Green Beret) and a retired restaurant owner.

He united in marriage to Sara Blevins March 24, 1979.

Besides his wife, Sara Blevins Curry of Campbellsville, he is survived by two sons and one daughter:   Jimmy Curry and wife, Carlene and David Curry and wife, Loretta of Somerset and Leigh Anne Clark and husband, David of Bellevue, Washington; eight grandchildren: Jason Bright and Michael Bright of Campbellsville, Chad Curry, Candace Curry, Jasper Curry and Jacob Curry of Somerset, Hudson John Clark and an unborn grandson of Bellevue, Washington; fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Brandon of North Carolina; three sisters-in-law: Clara Curry and Shirley Curry of Elizabethtown and Beckie Curry of Greensburg; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Diane Curry August 24, 2011 and five brothers and four sisters: Vernon Clay Curry, Garvis Curry, Gorman Curry, Wendell Curry, Milton Curry, Gracie Burns, Veotra Warf, Jeanette Fleitz and Virginia Curry.
