Charles Thurman Hedgespeth

Charles Thurman Hedgespeth of Campbellsville, son of the late Charles Emmitt Hedgespeth and Esdail Hamilton Hedgespeth, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, September 17, 1931.    He died at 10:23 A.M., Tuesday, April 1, 2014 in Campbellsville.      Age: 82

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served his country honorably in the United States Air Force attaining the rank of Airman First Class.  He was a Nuclear Weapons Mechanic Specialist.  He received the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal.

He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from Campbellsville College and a Masters Degree from Western Kentucky University.

He taught school in Taylor County Schools until he retired in 1987.  He was a retired farmer and a former security guard for Fruit of the Loom.

He united in marriage to Mina L. Hash June 1, 1958.

Besides his wife, Mina L. Hedgespeth, he is survived by one sister-in-law, Gladys Hedgespeth Jones of Campbellsville; one nephew and two nieces:  Charles Dennis “Denny” Hedgespeth and wife, Rita and Kathy Renae Vance and husband, Glenn of Campbellsville and Janet Leigh Valentine and husband, Larry of Louisville; three great-nephews:  Charles Jonathan “CJ” Hedgespeth, Samuel Jacob “Jake” Graham and Jon-Micah Kane Graham; five great-nieces:  Shaun Dylane Scott, Chasity Lynn Malone, Amber Renae Ervin, Kellie Jo Cash and Lacey Danielle Reynolds; five great-great nephews:  James Dylan Malone, Jarett McKay Malone, Cayden Hunter Scott, Layton Thomas Scott and Paxton Cole Cash; six great-great-nieces:  Mariah Leigh Malone, Kaileigh Renae Ervin, Peyton Karis Ervin, Paisley Jayde Cash, Hadlie Rae Blanford and Kenslee Danielle Reynolds; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Hedgespeth.

Guy Ayden Wood of Campbellsville, infant son of Guy and Danae Matherly Wood, was born in Jefferson County, Kentucky, March 29, 2014.   He died at 5:50 A.M., Sunday, March 30, 2014 in Louisville.     Age:  1 day

He is survived by his parents, Guy and Danae Wood, one sister, Brooklynn Rooker, paternal grandparents, Guy and Rebecca Wood, maternal grandparents, Michael and Heather Matherly, all of Campbellsville and Darlene Reeves of Columbia; paternal great-grandfather, Wesley Goodin of Columbia; maternal great-grandparents, Loyde and Deloris Hicks of Carrollton, Georgia and many other relatives and friends.

Lillie Hunt Fawcett

Lillie Hunt Fawcett of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Rodford Hunt and Ella Arvin Hunt, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, October 2, 1932.   She died at 2:00 A.M., Thursday, March 27, 2014 in Campbellsville.       Age: 81

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.

She was a retired employee of Victor’s in Campbellsville.

She united in marriage to Ollie Fawcett June 10, 1950.   He preceded her in death October 27, 2002.

She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Delbert and Dorene Hunt of New Iberia, Louisiana; one sister-in-law, Edith Hunt of Campbellsville; three nephews and two nieces:  Douglas Hunt and wife, Roxie, Danny Lewis Hunt, Jeffrey Hunt and wife, Tammy, Beth Hunt and Betty Billiot and husband, Bob, all of Campbellsville; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister:  Charles E. Hunt August 11, 2005 and Vonnie Caulk February 8, 1964.

Jose Rolando Alfaro of Campbellsville, son of Luis Armando Alfaro and Elvira Victoria Alfaro, was born in Honduras August 6, 1973.   He died Sunday, March 16, 2014 in

El Playon, Comayagua, Honduras.       Age: 40

He professed faith in Christ and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Besides his wife, Bessy Alfaro, he is survived by one son and one daughter:  Rolando Alfaro and Sheila Alfaro of Honduras; his parents, Luis Armando Alfaro and Elvira Victoria Alfaro of Honduras; three brothers and one sister:  Oscar Alfaro and wife, Tammy of Campbellsville, Elvin “Elby” Alfaro and wife, Shawn of Knifley, Henry Alfaro and wife, Ieta of Honduras and Meradys Alfaro of Texas; several nieces and nephews, including Samantha Alfaro, Jordan Alfaro and Gabriel Alfaro.

He was preceded in death a brother, Darwin Alfaro.

Delilah Gabehart Jones

Delilah Gabehart Jones of Campbellsville, formerly of Mannsville, daughter of the late John Walker Gabehart and Minnie Dell Smith Gabehart, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, December 29, 1916.   She died at 10:10 P.M., Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in Fairfield, Ohio.        Age: 97

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Mannsville United Methodist Church.

She was a retired school teacher and librarian for the Taylor County School System at the Mannsville School.

She united in marriage to Dewey Jones March 27, 1937.   He preceded her in death January 4, 1984.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Louis Randell and Vicki L. Jones of Fairfield, Ohio; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
