Steve E. Wilson of Campbellsville, son of Geri Wilson Sublett and the late David E. Wilson was born February 19, 1964 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 10:00 P.M., Monday, July 22, 2013 in Louisville.          Age: 49

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Geri and Roger Sublett of Campbellsville; one sister, Ellen Wilson and fiancée, Dave Riehl of New Albany, Indiana; one niece, Brittany Thielmeier and husband , Brian of Louisville; one great-niece, Madison Thielmeier and many other relatives and friends.

James F. Graves

James F. Graves, of Campbellsville, son of the late W. Ernest Graves and Nelle Burdette Graves, was born January 22, 1924, in Taylor County, Kentucky.  He died at 4:00 P.M., Sunday, July 21, 2013 in Campbellsville.    Age:  89

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the Army Air Force.  He graduated as a fighter pilot and served with the 8th Air Force in Europe as a P-51 pilot.  He joined the Army National Guard and was activated during the Korean Conflict, serving with the regular Army in Germany for three years.  He accepted a full time position with the National Guard and retired as Colonel of the Kentucky Army National Guard after thirty-six years of service, with thirty of those years with the Kentucky Army National Guard.

He was a graduate of the basic and advanced courses in Artillery at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, the Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas and the Inspector General and Auditor General Course in Washington, D.C.

He graduated from Campbellsville College when it was a two year college.

He united in marriage to Mary Jewell Vaughn January 10, 1950.  Mary Jewell joined him in Germany and their daughter, Virginia, was born in an Army hospital in Nuremburg, Germany.

Besides his wife, Mary Jewell Graves, he is survived by one daughter, Virginia Alicia Graves of Clarksville, Tennessee; one nephew, Dr. Eugene H. Shively and wife, Susan of Campbellsville; one great-nephew and one great-niece:  Alexander G. Shively and wife, Christina E. of Campbellsville and Dr. Victoria Shively Graham and husband, Michael L. of Louisville;

many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Graves Shively March 23, 2013.

Marie Karnes

Marie Karnes of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William T. Bean and Nora Perkins Bean, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, August 4, 1915.  She died at 4:10 A.M., Sunday, July 21, 2013, in Elizabethtown.         Age:   97

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church.    She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

She united in marriage to Charles Karnes May 5, 1929.  He preceded her in death May 27, 1977.

She is survived by one daughter and one son:  Ruth Ann Hayes and husband, Clyde and David Karnes and wife, Karen of Campbellsville; two granddaughters: Kristie DuSharm and husband, Mark of Little Rock, Arkansas and Shondah Cox and husband, Tim of Campbellsville; five great-grandchildren: Morgann Jaggers, Alexus DuSharm, Reif DuSharm, Kamry DuSharm, and Jayden Bradshaw; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers: Garnita Webb, Mary Grant Carter, Thomas Bean, and Milton Bean.

Frances Shreve Bright of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Rufus S. Shreve and Pearl May Shreve, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, April 18, 1921. She died at 7:30 P.M., Saturday, July 20, 2013, in Campbellsville.      Age:    92

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Meadowview Baptist Church.

She united in marriage to Walter Edward Bright May 1, 1940. He preceded her in death November 4, 1989.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter and son: Ann Douglas Bright December 14, 1983 and Greg Bright October 4, 1997; one sister and four brothers: Lena May Phillips, J. Millard Shreve, Frank Shreve, and Henry Shreve.

She is survived by one brother, Rollin Shreve of Deland, Florida; several nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.

Nancy Lou Hord Sandidge

NANCY LOU HORD SANDIDGE

 

Nancy Lou Hord Sandidge, of Danville, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ben Hord and Birdie Phillips Hord was born February 5, 1930 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died Friday, July 19, 2013 in Danville.      Age: 83

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Bethel First Presbyterian Church in Campbellsville.

She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Taylor County Schools.

She enjoyed traveling with her girlfriends over the years, spending time with her family and working crossword puzzles.

She was the wife of sixty-two years to Dwight Phillips Sandidge.

Besides her husband, Dwight Sandidge of Danville,  she is survived by one son and one daughter: Ben Sandidge and wife Suzanne of Danville and Beth Levinson and husband, Sammy of Bowling Green; six grandchildren: Jess Sandidge, Brook Hollis, Samantha Sandidge, MacKenzie Sandidge, Meggan Graham and Erin Faulkner; three great-grandchildren, Keaton Hollis, Lola Hollis and Reid Graham; three sisters: Eddie Garvin of Florida, Betty Pike of Campbellsville and Annie Laurie Cox of Greensburg; a sister-in-law, Clara Nelle Hord of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Hord.
