Wanda Walters

Wanda Walters of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Bennie Thompson and Bonnie Eastridge Thompson was born April 21, 1936 in Taylor County, Kentucky.

She died at 2:15 P.M., Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in Campbellsville.          Age: 76

She professed faith in Christ was a member of Early’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

She retired from Citizens Bank and Trust Company after some forty years of service.

She united in marriage to Horace Walters February 12, 1960. He preceded her in death January 8, 1970.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and Matthew Hayden of Louisville; three grandchildren: Samantha Hayden, Myra Hayden and Andrew Hayden of Louisville; one brother and his wife, Randall and JoAnn Thompson of Hemet, California; three sisters-in-law: Lois Thompson, Pauline Williams and Frances Curry of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Doyle Thompson.

Charles McCarty

Charles McCarty of Campbellsville, son of the late John Gordon McCarty and Ada Dell Golden McCarty, was born in Nicholas County, Kentucky, July 10, 1937.  He died at 6:19 A.M., Monday, July 30, 2012, in Campbellsville.    Age:  75

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Lowell Avenue Baptist Church.

He was owner and operator of Druther’s Restaurant in Campbellsville.

He united in marriage to Joanna Chaney May 7, 1957.

Besides his wife, Joanna McCarty, he is survived by two sons and one daughter:  Rick L. McCarty and wife, Jen of Winchester, Tennessee, Kathy Clark and husband, Greg and Steve McCarty and wife, Roxann of Campbellsville; six grandchildren:  Rick L. McCarty, Jr. and wife, Rayna, Beth Clark and husband,  Brandon Milby, Jonathan McCarty, Stephanie McCarty, Makenzie McCarty and Sean McCarty; two great-grandchildren:  Mya McCarty and Myles McCarty; two sisters:  Dollie Lyons of Carlisle and Mary Peratt of Flemingsburg; one sister-in-law, Jewell McCarty of Carlisle; special family member, Debbie Bennett of Memphis, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister:  William McCarty, Arlie McCarty and Nancye Davis.

Lois Whitney Gilpin

Lois Whitney Gilpin of Campbellsville, daughter of the late James A. Whitney and Elsie Smalling Whitney, was born in Adair County, Kentucky, March 27, 1918.   She died at 6:25 P.M., Sunday, July 29, 2012, in Columbia.    Age:  94

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

She was a retired librarian with the Taylor County Public Library.

She united in marriage to Burr Gilpin February 24, 1947.  He preceded her in death March 7, 1967.

She is survived by two daughters:  Mary Harrison Gilpin Eaves and husband, James of Louisville and Gayle Gilpin Rogers and husband, Dr. Ronald Rogers of Columbia; two grandsons, Dr. Adam Patteson Rogers and wife, Lauren G. and Matthew Harrison Rogers and wife, Leslie of Bowling Green; one great-grandson, Bryant Harrison Rogers of Bowling Green; several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Whitney Boehme in December, 2010.

Eric (Rick) Click of Jamestown, son of James (Jim) Click and Susie (Sue) Taylor Click was born in Maryland, November 16, 1963.  He died at 10:23 A.M., Monday, July 23, 2012, in Jamestown.    Age:  48 He was a semi-truck driver. He united in marriage to Vickie Webb June 24, 2006.   Besides his wife, Vickie Webb Click, he is survived by one daughter, Riki Lynn Click of Michigan; one grandson, Hayden;  his parents, Jim Click and Sue Taylor Click; one sister, Gail Cantrell and husband, Jim and a grandmother, Kathryn Taylor all of Arkansas and many other relatives and friends.

Merlin Boyd Harrison

Merlin Boyd Harrison of Campbellsville, son of the late Lelan Harrison and Lizzie Ermine Vaughn Harrison was born in Taylor County, Kentucky on March 19, 1926. He died at 9:55 P.M., Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in Campbellsville. Age: 86 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army achieving the rank of corporal. He was a retired employee of Tennessee Gas Transmission. He united in marriage to Lola Mae Beard February 5, 1949. She preceded him in death April 19, 1987. He was a loving and devoted husband, wonderful father and a good friend. He is survived by one son and two daughters: Danny Harrison and wife, Elaine of Louisville and Carolyn Walters and husband, Robert, and Judy Harrison of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Robin Michelle Walters of Campbellsville and Danny Boyd Harrison Jr. and wife Ammy of Shelbyville; one great-granddaughter, Meredith Ava Harrison; one brother, Richard Morrison Harrison and wife, Myra of Cincinnati,  Ohio; a special niece, Tammie Baumgardner of Campbellsville;  several other nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters: Cleston Kemper Harrison MIA in World War II, Charles “Cotton” Harrison, Lawrence Earl Harrison, John “Johnnie” Garnett Harrison, Eunice Sapp and Lois Newcomb.
