CHIEF JIMMIE COX

Jimmie Cox of Campbellsville, son of the late Ed Cox and Hazel Hare Cox, was born June 16, 1936 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 11:56 P.M., Friday, September 22, 2023 in Campbellsville.              Age:  87

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Saloma Baptist Church.

Jimmie enjoyed spending his time camping and taking care of his family after retiring. He loved babysitting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jimmie served his community as a Firefighter. He started his career in October of 1958 as a dispatcher while living at the firehouse. He went on to become the Chief of the Campbellsville Fire Department from 1973-1996 and was a member of the Kentucky Firefighter Association where he served 1 year as President and 7 years as Vice President. He had numerous accomplishments during his time as fire chief such as opening the Fire Training Center, developing activities for fire prevention week, working to get a mini pump truck and an aerial fire truck, developing Toys for Kids program and working with the WHAS Crusade for Children.

Jimmie also worked as a security guard for Pinkerton.

Jimmie united in marriage to Wanda Shipp December 30, 1981.

Besides his wife, Wanda Cox of Campbellsville, he is survived by two sons and one daughter: Butch Cox and wife Ann of Campbellsville, Barry Cox and wife Dee Dee of Pace, Florida, and Loria Christie and husband Jim of Campbellsville; two step-children: Leslie Richerson and wife, Chun, and Terry Richerson and wife Gaynelle and step-daughter-in-law, Lisa Richerson all of Campbellsville; thirteen grandchildren: Lauryn Tedrow and husband Jordan of Campbellsville, Chance Cox of Dayton, Ohio, Maci McQueary and husband Adam, Hunter Christie and wife Brooke of Bowling Green, Janet Judd, Jason Richerson, Jesse Richerson, Tristian Richerson, Jade Morton, Ada Justice, Miranda Sadler, Loren Fulkerson, and Jessalyn Read; nineteen great-grandchildren; four sisters: Brenda Wells and Karen Spurling of Campbellsville, Judy Henning of Shepherdsville, Betty Jo Sturgill of London; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Jimmie was also preceded in death by one brother: Jerry Ray Cox and one step-son, John Richerson.

Rev. William C Reed

REV. WILLIAM C REED

Rev. William C Reed of Campbellsville, son of the late William Cecil Reed and Florence Lucille Smith Reed, was born October 4, 1949 in Bluefield, West Virginia.  He departed this life at 10:49 A.M., Friday, September 22, 2023 at home in Campbellsville.        Age:  73

He accepted Jesus as his Savior at an early age and he attended Bible College where he earned a Theology degree. Bro. Bill pastored in Virginia, Indiana and Kentucky. He loved preaching and discussing the Bible with anyone. He was also an avid reader.

William united in marriage to Karen Finch Reed December 19, 1970.

Besides his wife, Karen Reed of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son: Patrick Reed of Campbellsville of whom he was so proud; one brother: Mike Reed and wife Robin of South Carolina; one brother-in-law: Bobby Finch and wife Connie of Virginia; many other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank his nurse Casey and the Doctors at Davita for their love and dedication to Bill.

Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Judy Sullivan of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Eugene Wright and Evaline Shofner Wright, was born November 8, 1950 in Taylor County, Kentucky.   She died at 11:39 .A.M., Friday, September 8, 2023 in Campbellsville. Age: 72

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Zion Separate Baptist Church.

Judy was a retired teacher with the LaRue County School System.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Marcy Pierce and husband, James of Nicholasville; two grandchildren: Audrey Pierce and Ellie Pierce; one sister and one brother: Carol Underwood and Gary Wright of Campbellsville; a nephew Jason Wright and wife Maranda of Campbellsville; a great niece and two great nephews: Hayden Wright, Jackson Wright and Mason Wright; one aunt, Brenda Montgomery of Campbellsville; and many other relatives and friends.

Judy was also preceded in death by a nephew, Marcus Underwood.

Jenetta Nell Davidson Parrish

Jenetta Nell Davidson Parrish of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Albert Elmer Davidson and Martie Dabney Davidson, was born January 6, 1934 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died at 4:20 A.M., Thursday, September 7, 2023 in Campbellsville.      Age:  89

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First Methodist Church.

Jenetta was a retired instructor with Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville for over thirty-seven years.

She united in marriage to Lewis “Sie” Parrish July 3, 1953 and he preceded her in death March 5, 2017.

Jenetta enjoyed riding her four-wheeler and checking on her animals.  She loved the farm and lived there for eighty-nine years until her final illness.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Larry Gilpin of Campbellsville; two grandchildren:  Miranda Zottman and husband, Corey and Aaron Gilpin and wife, Meredith of Campbellsville; three great-grandchildren:  John Zottman, Jack Zottman and Cora Ann Gilpin of Campbellsville and many other relatives and friends.

Zelma Lotter

Zelma Lotter of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Huston Hoosier and Lottie Ellen Burress, was born August 9, 1943 in Adair County, Kentucky.  She died at 2:38 A.M., Wednesday, September 6, 2023 in Campbellsville.      Age:  80

She professed faith in Christ and attended Truth Tabernacle Pentecostal Church.

Zelma was a retired housekeeper for Dr. James R. Angel’s family for twenty-two years.

She united in marriage to Bobby E. Lotter May 12, 1962 and he preceded her in death January 15, 2011.

Zelma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by one daughter, Robin Boils of Campbellsville; two grandchildren:  Michael Boils and Brittany Benford and husband, Shawn of Greensburg; three great-grandchildren:  Harper Benford, Heidi Benford and Hayden Benford. A Sister-in-Law Mary Thompson, Brother and Sister-in-Law Harold and JoAnn Lotter, Sister-in-Law Betty Hoosier all of Campbellsville and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Mikel Eugene Lotter in infancy on September 8, 1964 and five brothers and five sisters:  Bradley Hoosier, Jack Hoosier, Coakley Hoosier, Willie Hoosier, Elmer Hoosier, Onia Mae Abell, Wilma Karnes, Velma Bailey, Nellie Goode and Hettie McDonald and another sister in infancy.
