Delbert Dix

Delbert Dix of Campbellsville, son of the late Thomas Dix and Dora Rickel Dix, was born April 12, 1927, in Taylor County, Kentucky.  He died at 4:30 P.M., Monday, January 16, 2012 in Campbellsville.   Age: 84

He professed faith in Christ and was a charter member of the Meadowview Baptist Church.  He served as a deacon since September 25, 1961 at South Campbellsville Baptist Church and Meadowview Baptist Church.

He was a retired brick layer and was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers for over sixty years.

He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of World

War II.

He united in marriage to Christine Smith December 24, 1952.

Besides his wife, Christine Dix, he is survived by one son and one daughter:  Craig Dix and Donna Blair and husband, Roger of Campbellsville; two grandsons:  Andrew Blair and wife, Shannon of Campbellsville and Benjamin Blair of Louisville; one sister-in-law, Mabel Dix of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters:  Dean Dix, Paul Dix, Aubrey Dix, Guy Dix, Kenneth Dix, Edward Dix, Ernest Dix, Dorothy Dix, Lyla Dix, Ruth Sallee and Elizabeth Davis.

Ken McDonald

Ken McDonald of Campbellsville, son of the late Charles McDonald and Bessie Swafford McDonald, was born July 11, 1932, in Knox County, Kentucky.  He died at 10:05 P.M., Saturday, January 14, 2012 in Campbellsville.   Age: 79

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

He was retired District Manager of the Social Security Administration.

He was a graduate of Union College and active in local civic and community activities.

He served his country honorably in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Besides his wife, Beulah McDonald, he is survived by two daughters:  Jo Ann McDonald Rice and husband, Tim of Danville and Lisa Walters and husband, Bill of Richmond; five grandchildren:  Evan Rice and fiancée, Carissa Castro, Alex Rice, Alan Walters, Sara Walters and Kate Walters and many other relatives and friends.

RAY STAPP

Ray Stapp of Campbellsville, son of the late Herman Stapp and Lucy G. Farmer Stapp, was born January 24, 1931, in Marion County, Kentucky.  He died at 1:10 A.M., Friday, January 13, 2012 in Louisville.   Age: 80

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church.

He was a retired farmer.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by one brother, Clarence Stapp and wife Ethel Shipp Stapp of Indianapolis, Indiana; four nieces and one nephew; Shirley Williams, Carolyn Stapp, Kathy Twyford, Joann Stapp, and Johnny Stapp; and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Paul A. Stapp December 26, 1934.

Helen Houk Wall of Edmonton, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Willie D. Rose and Mayme Colvin Rose, was born November 2, 1924, in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died at 5:50 P.M., Thursday, January 12, 2012 in Columbia, Kentucky.   Age: 87

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church.

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

She united in marriage to L.W. “Steve” Rayner, Dwight Houk, and Allen Wall, all of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons and three daughters:  Linda A. Brockman and Lee Rayner and wife, Brenda of Campbellsville, Larry Rayner and wife, Linda of Oakland, Ky., Debbie Manning of Edmonton and Carol Harris and husband, Mark of Ketchikan, Alaska; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Rose and wife, Shirley of Lancaster; and many other relatives and friends.

Esther Bell

Esther Bell of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Edward Puyear and Lula Shofner Puyear was born February 7, 1932, in Marion County, Kentucky. She died at 7:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in Edgewood, Kentucky.

Age: 79

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Levelwoods United Methodist Church.

She was a retired employee of Nationwide Sewing Factory in Hodgenville after some 30 plus years of service.

She united in marriage to Herman E. Bell April 2, 1954. He preceded her in death December 2, 2004.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Phil Jacobs of Edgewood; one granddaughter, Ellen Jacobs and one grandson, Tony Jacobs of Edgewood; two sisters and two brothers: Mildred Grimes and Claude Puyear of Louisville, Connie Nalley of Lebanon and Elbert Puyear of Campbellsville; one half-sister, Dorothy Doty of Illinois; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister, Herman Puyear and Marie Schulak; four siblings in infancy; and one half-brother and two half-sisters:  Donald Puyear, Ruth Byington and Lena Caldwell.
