Billy “Benny” Benningfield

Billy Benningfield of Campbellsville, son of the late Arland Benningfield Sr. and Mary Nellie Marrs Benningfield, was born October 12, 1932 in Marion County, Kentucky.  He returned home to his Heavenly Father at 7:19 A.M., Sunday, July 2, 2023 in Campbellsville.   Age:  90

He professed faith in Christ.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army as a cook during the Korean War.

Billy worked at National Bird Inc. in Stokie, Illinois, then moved onto General Electric where he retired in 1972 from the welding department in building 1. He was a member of the Suburban Masonic Lodge #740 and a member of the VFW post 6182. Billy lived his life as an avid fisherman, telling lots of jokes along the way.

He married his beloved wife of sixty-eight years, Frances Marie Bloyd, August 5, 1955.

Besides his wife, Frances Benningfield of Campbellsville, he is survived by three sons Billy Benningfield Jr. of Nebraska, John Benningfield Sr. of Raywick, and Donald Benningfield, (Holly) of Bullitt County; nine grandchildren; seventeen and one-half great-grandchildren; his caretaker Kathy Smith; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Billy was also preceded in death by one sister and one brother: Layla Fox and Arland Benningfield Jr.; and his loving dog Decca.

VISITATION: 2:00 -8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 7A.M., Friday

Louise Harris

Louise Harris of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Leonard Wilson and Ida Belle Cox Wilson, was born December 4, 1937 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died at 5:10 P.M., Thursday, June 29, 2023 in Campbellsville.   Age:  85

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Separate Baptist Church.

She united in marriage to Kenneth Harris March 30, 1956 and he preceded her in death October 21, 2017.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Clements of Campbellsville; two grandchildren:  Trevis Bell and Trena DeMasi; three great-grandchildren:  Madison Bell, Mylee Bell and Serenity Bell; one brother, Larry Wilson and wife, Bonnie of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Nolan Robinson

Nolan Robinson of Campbellsville, son of the late William “Bill” Robinson and Cora Tudder Bright, was born September 4, 1935 in Marion County, Kentucky.  He died at 3:20 P.M., Tuesday, June 27, 2023 in Campbellsville.   Age:  87

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Bethel First Presbyterian Church and had more recently attended Springfield Presbyterian Church.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army.

Nolan was an entrepreneur. Not only did he farm and have rental properties, but after fourteen years of working in management with Kroger, he started the first Convenient Food Mart outside the Louisville Metro Area.

He united in marriage to Judy Browning May 1, 1966.

Besides his wife, Judy Robinson of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and one daughter:  Steven Robinson of Lawrenceburg and Beth Osborne of Wichita, Kansas; four grandchildren: Lily Anne Osborne and Chapman Walker Osborne, of Wichita, Kansas and Nolan Lee Robinson and Grand Thomas Robinson of Springfield; one brother, James Martin Robinson of Galva, Illinois; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Nolan was also preceded in death by two brothers:  Donald Adrian Bright and William Michael Robinson.

Rita Ann Kozak

Rita Ann Kozak of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Edmund Kotecki and Anna Urbanski Kotecki, was born July 4, 1928 in LaSalle-Peru, Illinois.  She died at 11:50 A.M., Saturday, June 24, 2023 in Campbellsville.   Age:  94

She faithfully followed the footsteps of Jesus Christ and served her Heavenly Father, Jehovah, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1938.

Rita was a retired secretary for Montgomery Ward.

She united in marriage to Edward Joseph Kozak August 15, 1967 and he preceded her in death in 2010.

Rita is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Howie and Maureen Kozak;   two grandchildren: Keith Howard Kozak (Tiffany) and Karen Elizabeth McConnell (Jimmy); four great-grandchildren: Chloe, Kya, Kiara and Cage all of Campbellsville; also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews and cousins, all of Illinois and her brothers and sisters in the faith, who she loved so dearly and worked alongside in the Campbellsville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Rita was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Kee-Kotecki.

Vernon “Bum” Richerson

Vernon “Bum” Richerson of Campbellsville, son of the late Joseph Richerson and Elizabeth Benningfield Richerson, was born July 23, 1939 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  He died at 12:01 A.M., Sunday, June 18, 2023 in Campbellsville.   Age:  83

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church.

He united in marriage to Connie Lane Brown in July of 1987 and she preceded him in death May 13, 2010.

Vernon was a retired employee with the Kentucky State Road Department.

He enjoyed any outside activity, especially hunting and fishing.  Vernon was a loving grandfather who doted on his grandchildren.

He is survived by two daughters: Patty Deering and husband, David and Elaine Gerwitz and husband, Robert of Shepherdsville; four grandchildren: Brandon Gerwitz of Bardstown, MaKayla Deering Polstin and husband, Kobe of Danville and Macy Deering and Maddie Deering of Campbellsville; one great-grandchild, Kayden Gerwitz; two brothers and one sister: Lawrence Richerson, Kenneth Richerson and wife, Bertha and Genell Newton of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
