Richard Chelf

Richard Chelf of Elk Horn, son of the late Elbert Burk Chelf and Lennie Stayton Chelf, was born May 3, 1935 in Adair County, Kentucky.  He died at 12:27 A.M., Monday, January 16, 2023 in Louisville.   Age: 87

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Feathersburg Church of God.

Richard was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Army.   While serving, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Parashutist Badge and the Expert Infantry Badge.

He was a retired tool and dye employee with Parker Kalon in Campbellsville.

He enjoyed coon hunting, horse riding, traveling and collecting knives and especially loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Richard united in marriage to Shirley Burress September 22, 1960 and she preceded him in death October 3, 2018.

He is survived by one son and one daughter:  Kenneth Chelf and wife, Tiffany of Elk Horn and Kathy Evans and husband, Jerry of Magnolia; four grandchildren: Casey Chelf and significant other, Emily Brewer, Ashley Chelf Nelson and husband, Joe and Zachary Chelf of Elk Horn and Stephen Evans and wife, Kayla of Magnolia; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Richard was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stephanie Evans; two brothers and three sisters:  Herbert Chelf, Ralph Chelf, Louise Sumner, Joyce Weil and Jeanette Chelf.

Gail Shaw

Gail Shaw of Campbellsville, daughter of the late John A. Miller and Mary Brubaker Miller, was born August 17, 1937 in Ironton, Ohio.  She died at 2:05 A.M., Wednesday, January 11, 2023 in Louisville.   Age: 85

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Christian Church.

Gail was a retired schoolteacher with the Taylor County School System.

She united in marriage to Don Shaw June 3, 1956.

Besides her husband, Don Shaw of Campbellsville, Gail is survived by one son and one daughter:  Mary Jo Hazel and husband, Nick of Campbellsville and  David Shaw and wife, Sue of Lexington; seven grandchildren:  Patrick Shaw of New York, Meredith Forssman and husband, Julius of Germany, Matthew Hazel and wife, Ashley, Justin Hazel and wife, Taylor and Carlie Hazel of Campbellsville, Jared Shaw and Tyler Shaw of Frankfort; two great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way; one brother, Bill Miller and wife, Jerri of Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Gail was also preceded in death by a son, Jeff Shaw in July, 2018.

Jennie Barnett

Jennie Barnett of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William Earl Myers and Mary Melba Wilson Myers, was born November 6, 1932 in Taylor County, Kentucky.   She died at 7:30 P.M., Monday, January 9, 2023 in Greensburg.   Age:  90

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School for forty years.

She was a homemaker and retired seamstress.

Jennie enjoyed cooking and her family said she was a good cook.

She united in marriage to Leonard Barnett April 25, 1953 and he preceded her in death September 19, 2017.

She is survived by one son and one daughter:  Randy Barnett and wife, Kelly of Elizabethtown and Linda Humphress and husband, Mike of Campbellsville; four grandchildren:  Levi Barnett and Chelsey Gorham and husband, Bobby of Louisville, Austin Seaborne and wife, Sarah and Ashley Silas of Elizabethtown; two great-grandchildren:  Madison Silas and Loralai Gorham; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Jennie was also preceded in death by three brothers:  Johnnie “Bill” Myers, Charles Myers and Leroy Myers.

Wynema Breeding Garrison of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Atha Gent Breeding and Clyde English Breeding, was born July 29, 1930 in Green County, Kentucky.  She died at 8:47 A.M., Saturday, January 7, 2023 in Campbellsville.   Age: 92

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church and recently attending the Rock Community Worship Center.

Wynema was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom where she worked for more than thirty five years.

She united in marriage to Samuel Allen Garrison December 26, 1950 and he preceded her in death October 28, 2021.

She is survived one son and one daughter:  Sammy Garrison and wife, Marchetta of Campbellsville and Sandra Garrison of Bowling Green; two grandchildren: Sabrina Garrison of Campbellsville, and Spencer Dalton of Georgetown; one sister and one brother: Juanita Breeding Cheatham and husband, Maurice of Campbellsville, and Marvin Breeding and wife, Julia Ann of Greensburg; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

David Marshall Winn

David Marshall Winn of Campbellsville, son of Marcia McGlocklin Winn and the late Charles Leroy Winn, was born August 6, 1966 in Green County, Kentucky.  He died at 2:00 A.M., Friday, January 6, 2023 in Campbellsville.   Age:  56

As a Christian, David had a warm heart and loving smile.  He seldom met a stranger, and would often go out of his way to help anyone in need.

David was a flooring installer specializing in carpet and vinyl tile. He took great pride in his craft, and was often recommend by word of mouth because of his quality of work and endearing personality.  His reputation in the industry was impeccable.

David is survived by his mother, Marcia Winn of Campbellsville; one brother, Steven Winn of Louisville; aunts and uncles: Mitzi Hay of Campbellsville, Pitts Winn of Lexington, and Ted Winn and wife, Mary Alice of Lawrenceburg; his fur baby, Windy; several cousins and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his grandparents: Tedd Winn Sr., and Helen Winn, and Marshall and Juanita McGlocklin; and two uncles: Philip Loy Hay and Jim Winn; one cousin, Philip Marshall Hay.
