Charles Bagby

Charles Bagby of Campbellsville, son of the late Junior Bagby and Carolyn Tungate Waltermier, was born June 16, 1964 in Cook County, Illinois.  He died at 7:40 P.M., Friday, September 30, 2022 in Campbellsville.    Age:  58 He united in marriage to Kathy Garrett on January 28, 1983. Besides his wife, Kathy Bagby of Campbellsville, Charles is survived by one son and one daughter:  Charlie Bagby and Christina Marples and husband, Tyler of Campbellsville;  two grandchildren:  Logan Marples and Kaitlyn Marples of Campbellsville; four sisters and three brothers: Telina Sietz, Elvina Richardson and Michael Bagby and wife, Mindy of Campbellsville, Theresa Bohannon and husband, Jimmy, and Helen Bagby of Lebanon,  Kenneth Bagby and wife, Mazie of Finley and Johnny Bagby of Greensburg; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Charles was also preceded in death by a sister, Alice Houk.

Jason Alan Jones

Jason Alan Jones, age 69, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, departed from this earthly life on September 23, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his father, Milton and brother, Paul.

Jason was born March 22, 1953, in Campbellsville, Kentucky to Milton and Geraldine Jones.  He was a graduate of Taylor County High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University.  Jason professed faith in Christ and was a lifelong member of Friendship Baptist Church where he served as the worship pianist for 14 years.

Jason recently retired from his lifelong passion as a dairyman, however, he remained active tending a garden, raising heifers, chickens, bees, and crops amid assisting as caregiver for his mother.  Jason was a member of the Kentucky Holstein Cattle Club, Green River Beekeepers and a financial supporter of the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Jason will always be remembered for his generosity to the Bengal community and beyond.  He visited regularly with those in the neighborhood, delivering fresh produce from the garden, baked goods, eggs and honey.  He wouldn’t go a day without checking on the wellbeing of extended family, friends and peers.

Jason is survived by his mother Geraldine and sister Sharon Harris (Brian) of Campbellsville, Nieces Carly Davis of Nashville and Sara Kwak (Meong) of Philadelphia, PA.  Nephew, Benjamin Harris-Medina (Elizabeth) of Lexington, KY. and “brothers in life” Tim, Neil and Ryan, along with a host of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and friends who were blessed by their time with him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, Kentucky.  Visitation begins at 9:00 am with the service at 11:00 am.  A fellowship meal will be held at Campbellsville First United Methodist Church, 317 East Main Street, Campbellsville following the service.

Honorary Pallbearers are Barry Blevins, Mary Bauer-Dauenhauer, Neil Hooper, Tim Hooper, Jane Ransdell and Ryan Shofner.

The family requests expressions of sympathy in form of Gideons Bibles or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Those may be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home or  at www.stjude.org/donate.

Marilyn “Pat” Perkins

Marilyn (Pat) Joan Hennessee Perkins was born on September 21st, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late William F. and Florence I. Hennessee.  She passed from this life on Monday, September 26th, 2022 at her son’s home in Athens, Alabama.  She was 91 years old.  She was married to the love of her life, James R. Perkins, for 56 years when he passed in 2003.  She was baptized into Christ in Greasy Creek during a Gospel Meeting, and served the Lord faithfully as a member of the Church of Christ.  She was a graduate of Green County High School.  After raising her children she worked 6 years in the cafeteria at Taylor County High School, a job that she loved.  She was a member of the Walnut Grove Homemakers club, an outstanding cook, and supportive of all of her children’s endeavors.

She is survived by one daughter, Patty Reynolds (Steven) of Campbellsville, Kentucky and three sons:  Kenny Perkins (Dian) of Franklin, Kentucky, Jim Perkins (Denise) of Georgetown, Kentucky and Bill Perkins (Elayne) of Athens, Alabama.  She has eight grandsons and three granddaughters; twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and a great many friends in Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.

She is preceded in death by 1 daughter, Peggy Clark (Steve) of Campbellsville.

Kathy Graham

Kathy Graham of Campbellsville, daughter of Roxanne Farmer Perry and the late Michael Warner Perry, was born December 30, 1961 in Jefferson County, Kentucky.  She died Thursday, September 22, 2022 in Nashville.   Age:  60

Kathy had been employed as a Teller at Taylor County Bank for several years.

She is survived by two daughters and one son:  Sheere Newton and husband, Ben of Campbellsville, Erika Renee Gaines and husband, Jeff of Winchester and Clint Graham and wife, Emily of Edmonton; thirteen grandchildren:  Macon Graham,

Joy Graham, Stella Graham, Vivian Graham, Eliza Graham, Tate Newton, Luke Newton, Bryce Newton, Riley Newton, Ella Gaines, Cana Gaines, Selah Gaines and Cruz Gaines; one sister and one brother: Bethany Perry of Tennessee, and Mike Perry of Colorado; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Kathy was also preceded in death by her step-father, Ron Coleman.

Stella Morrison

Stella Thomas Morrison of the Mac Community of  Taylor County, Kentucky departed this life on September 20, 2022 at the age of 89, only a short distance from the place where she was born on August 21, 1933, daughter of the late Thomas Hendricks Johnson and Edmonia Cessna Howard Purcell Johnson.

Stella was a homemaker.  She was a meticulous housekeeper and an excellent cook.  Before her health failed, she raised a large garden and enjoyed tending her chickens.  She was a textbook of information about the families in her native community.    Most importantly, Stella had professed faith in Jesus Christ when a young woman and lived a consistent Christian life.  She was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.  She read and studied her Bible each day until failing vision intervened.  She adored music, particularly the old hymns, and was a talented pianist, having played the piano for the Sunday School Services at the Medco Nursing Home for many years.  Stella was a jolly soul who loved games and playing practical jokes.
She was united in marriage to Elton Powers “Chief” Morrison on March 6, 1965.  He preceded her in death on August 18, 2007.  Stella was also preceded in death by an infant son, Stevenson Purcell Reynolds, on May 24, 1954.
Survivors include a nephew, Gary Johnson and his wife, Judy; two great-nephews: Josh Johnson and his wife, Leeann, and Jeremy Johnson; great-great nieces and nephews: Ashton Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Shelby Martin, Tanner Martin and Bryce Cook.  She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Josie Morrison, of Campbellsville.
In addition to her husband and child, Stella was preceded in death by a brother, Hiestand Johnson, a nephew, Thomas Wayne Johnson and a host of friends and other relatives.
