James Earl Lewis of Louisville, son of the late William N. Lewis and Zana Sizemore Lewis, was born September 15, 1921, in Hyden, Kentucky. He died at 2:40 P.M., Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in Louisville. Age: 88
He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Navy.
He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky F. & A.M., the Thoroughbred Stein Collectors Association and the Kyana Geological Society, an avid sports fan and a loving and devoted husband.

Opal Sallee of Leesburg, Virginia, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Jesse Oman Sullivan and Callie B. Davis Sullivan, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, May 9, 1920. She died at 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 8, 2010, in Leesburg, Virginia. Age: 90
She had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.
She united in marriage to Lewis Sallee August 15, 1942. He preceded her in death December 10, 1984.

William Randy Rakes, Sr, 58, of Sunnyhill Drive, Campbellsville died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Dennis Lawrence and Nellie Mae Rakes. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Richard Rakes, Carl Eugene Rakes and George Lawrence Rakes and Gertrude Rakes.
He is survived by his wife Brenda Sue Rakes of Campbellsville, six sons and daughters-in-law, Steven (Slo-Mo) & Jamie Rakes of Greensburg, Stanley & Katrina Rakes , William Jr. (Syboo) & Cathy Rakes all of Lebanon, Tim Bright of Loretto, Andrew Rakes, Campbellsville, and Danny Dale & Tammy Bright of Bradfordsville, three daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy Phelps of Liberty, Racheal Rakes & Roberto Ibarra of Lebanon and Megan Rakes of Campbellsville, fourteen grandchildren, four sisters & brothers-in-law, Helena Raikes of Campbellsville, Carolyn and Kenny Roller of Bradfordsville, Martha & Jeffrey McFarland of Liberty and Linda & Ricky Mattingly of Finley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2PM, Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Old Liberty Cemetery.

Miss Margie Marie Hancock was born August 12, 1926 in Green County, Ky. to the late Grover C. and Amanda Gilpin Hancock. She departed this life Monday, September 6, 2010 at the Golden Living Center, Green Hill Manor, Greensburg, KY, having attained the age of eighty-four years and twenty-four days.
Miss Hancock had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summer Shade Methodist Church.
She is survived by one sister: Tara Gupton of Greensburg, KY. Also surviving are two nephews: Gerald and Glen Gupon, both of Greensburg, KY, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Robert Lee Tungate of Campbellsville, son of Eveline Fisher Tungate Riley and the late Frank Earl Tungate, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, June 13, 1961. He died at 8:36 A.M., Monday, September 6, 2010, in Campbellsville. Age: 49
He had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He was an employee of Portland Forge in Lebanon.
He united in marriage to Martha Sanders November 22, 1980.
Besides his wife, Martha Tungate, he is survived by his mother, Eveline Riley; one sister, Kaye Elmore and husband, Steve; one nephew and one niece: Chris Montgomery and Kristy Elmore all of Campbellsville; several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Clarence and Bessie Tungate and Alford and Lou Emmer Fisher.

He served as medical director of several area nursing homes, was the first administrator of Taylor County Hospital, a former chairman of the Taylor County and Lake Cumberland District Boards of Health, a former member of the Taylor County Mental Health Board, Taylor County Public Library Board, and Campbellsville-Taylor County Rescue Advisory Board.
