Alma Philpott, 90

Alma Philpott of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Griffin B. Chewning and Cecil Ellen Todd Chewning, was born August 13, 1920, in Adair County, Kentucky.  She died at 3:25 P.M., Saturday, October 30, 2010 in Campbellsville.   Age: 90

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church.  

She was a former employee of Hobbs Five and Ten Cent Store for a brief time.

She is survived by one brother and three sisters: Bobby Chewning and wife, Peggy, Genevieve Tarter, Pauline Kerr, and Mary Jean Jeffries and husband, Cosby all of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death  by one brother and one sister: William Chewning and Katherine Chewning.

Kemel Work of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Edd Smith and Celia Smith, was born May 22, 1922, in Cumberland County, Kentucky.  She died at
1:13 P.M., Saturday, October 30, 2010 in Campbellsville.                Age: 88
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Sunny Hill Drive Church of Christ. 
She was an employee of Fruit of the Loom for many years.
She united in marriage to James Work September 27, 1947.  He preceded her in death August 11, 2006. 
She is survived by two sisters:  Oleen Hill of Campbellsville and Hazel Sensing of Bowling Green; three nieces and two nephews:  Carlene Newton of Campbellsville, Clyde Hill and Larry Sensing of Bowling Green, and Sue Riddle and Barbara Jean Sawyers of Albany; five great-nieces and two great-nephews:  Ashley Crowe and Paige Orlando of Bowling Green, Sabrina Massey of Nashville, Linda Ray and Brenda Vitatoe of Albany, Justin Newton of Louisville, and Austin Newton of Richmond; three great-great-nieces and two great-great nephews: Riley Crowe, Henle Newton, Halle Newton, Sam Massey, and Jax Massey; special friends:  Wanda Walters, Pauline McGinnis and the EL-AMOURI Family and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Vicie Mae Garner.

 James Adam Hogan of Campbellsville, son of James “Jim” Horace Hogan and Carole Jean Volk Hogan, was born April 16, 1981, in Taylor County, Kentucky.  He was found Thursday, October 21, 2010 in Campbellsville.   Age: 29

He professed faith in Christ and attended the Mannsville United Methodist Church.   

He is survived by a son, Ryan Adam Hogan of Campbellsville; his father, James “Jim” Horace Hogan of Campbellsville and his mother, Carole Jean Hogan of Lebanon; one brother and one sister:  Jeremy Todd Hogan of Orlando, Florida and Angela Renee Williams of Lebanon; maternal grandmother, Jo Ann Volk of Louisville; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Volk and his paternal grandparents, Joe C. Hogan and Mozelle McDonald Hogan.
