Barbara F. Perkins, Age 79

Barbara F. Perkins, age 79, of Campbellsville, died Saturday, January 29, 2011. 

She was the daughter of the late Jake Stayton and Zella King Stayton.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Perkins, and one brother; Richard Dean Stayton.

She is survived by her son; Terry R. and his wife Brenda Perkins of Campbellsville, two brothers; Keith Stayton of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Welby Leonard Stayton of Savannah, Georgia, two sisters; Ann Turner of Louisville, and Sondra Powell of Lagrange, and two grandsons; Casey Perkins of Campbellsville, and Jaspar Perkins of Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11AM, Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation is from 5:00PM – 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.  Bro. Evan Tedder, officiating.

Virginia “Sis” Curry Childers of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Alvin Tucker Curry and Fannie Parrott Curry, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, October 13, 1922.   She died at 6:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in Jeffersonville, Indiana.   Age:  88
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. 
She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and manager of KOA Campground in Campbellsville.
She united in marriage to Ballard “Chick” Childers November 9, 1944.  He preceded her in death August 3, 1989.

Emma Jean Garrett Phipps of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Roy Thomas Garrett and Cora Simpson Garrett, was born in Marion County, Kentucky, June 10, 1949.   She died at 9:30 P.M., Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in Campbellsville.   Age:  61

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Temple.    

She united in marriage to Kenneth Ray Phipps January 14, 1995.

Brian K. Nunn of Campbellsville, son of Elsie Mae Estes Nunn and the late Wallace Keen Nunn, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, November 14, 1962.   He died at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in Louisville.   Age:  48

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.  

He had been employed with the Department of Juvenile Justice.      

He united in marriage to Venessa Goff June 29, 1985.

           Mary J. Pike Allen, 62, of Lebanon formerly of Taylor County died of January 18, 2011.

          She was preceded in death by her father, Creed Allen, one brother, Sammy Allen.

          She is survived by one son, Chris Morgan of Campbellsville, Mother, Gertrude Allen of Campbellsville, one brother Charles Thomas Allen of Campbellsville, two sisters,  Jewell Shipp of Lebanon, Ruby Sanders of Campbellsville.

          Funeral services will be conducted at 11AM, Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dr. Lynn Cobb Montgomery

Dr. Lynn Cobb Montgomery, 61, died in his sleep on December 27, 2010 at his home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Formerly of Campbellsville, Kentucky, he was the son of Bea Montgomery and the late Ollie Montgomery.  He is survived by his wife, Dolores “Dee” Montgomery; daughter, Samantha Montgomery (Jace Byers) of Lexington, Kentucky; step-children, Joseph Brogan and Lisa Schafer (Stephen), both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; aunt, Ann Dietrich (Fred) of Holiday, Florida, as well as many relatives and friends.  He was buried December 31, 2010 in Pennsylvania.

 There will be a memorial service to celebrate the life of Lynn Cobb Montgomery held at Campbellsville Baptist Church on N. Central Avenue, January 29, 2011 at 1:00 P.M.

James Albert “Boots” Mattingly, Age 83

James Albert “Boots” Mattingly of Campbellsville, son of the late John Henry Mattingly and Ruth M. Mattingly, was born in Marion County, Kentucky,

June 24, 1927.   He died at 12:30 P.M., Monday, January 17, 2011 in Campbellsville.     Age:  83  

Besides his wife, Mary D. (Bennett) Mattingly, he is survived by two sons and one daughter:  Randall Lee Mattingly and Jeffery A. Mattingly of Campbellsville and Mildred J. Brown of Louisville; two grandchildren: Connie Sue Bowen and husband, Dale of Louisville and Cameron J. Mattingly of Los Angeles, California; one sister, Nellie M. Mattingly of Loretto; step-grandson, Michael Miller of Shepherdsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers:  Herbert Mattingly and Robert Mattingly.

She is survived by her husband, David “Blue” Bryant of Campbellsville, one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Wray Bradshaw & Gary Bradshaw of Russell Springs, two grandchildren Ashley and Matthew Hayes and one great grandchild, Taylor Hayes, three brothers and sisters-in-law,  Calvin and Dawn Bennett, Eugene & Sissy Bennett all of Campbellsville, David and Lorie Bennett of Savannah, Georgia, one sister, Joyce Bennett of Campbellsville.

She is survived by her husband, George Cerezo of Campbellsville, two sons and daughter-in-law, Shawn & Trisha Cerezo of Erie, Pennsylvania, Erik Cerezo of Campbellsville, one daughter & son-in-law, Jessica and Shawn Lanham of Campbellsville, six grandchildren, Bradley & Ashley Lanham, Erin, Timothy, Christina and Matthew Cerezo.
