Charles W. Melton of Campbellsville, son of the late W. D. “Bill” Melton and Hattie Colvin Melton, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, October 31, 1933. He died at 7:05 A.M., Monday, January 31, 2011 in Campbellsville. Age: 77 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church. He was a retired cutting room employee with Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. He united in marriage to Hazel Lois Clark June 14, 1952. Besides his wife, Hazel Lois Melton, he is survived by two sons and one daughter: Chuck Melton and wife, Sharon and Maria Pike and husband, Mark of Campbellsville and Mike Melton and wife, Catherine of Lexington; five grandchildren: SPC 5 Ronald Melton of Iraq, Steven Melton and Andrew Pike of Campbellsville, Sarah Rexroat and Jacob Melton of Lexington; three great-grandchildren: Kyla Melton, Koben Melton and Danielle Morris; two sisters: Gladys Colvin and Mary Aileen Colvin of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
