Montye Minor Hill of Campbellsville, formerly of Louisville, daughter of the late Sanford Minor and Augusta Wright Minor was born October 18, 1914 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 10:40 A.M., Sunday, April 19, 2009 in Campbellsville. Age: 94
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Christ Church, United Methodist in Louisville.
She united in marriage to Charles M. Hill December 26, 1936. They lived most of their married life in Omaha, Nebraska where he was a District Manager for the Campbell Soup Company. He preceded her in death May 30, 1998.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Barnett of Campbellsville and Muriel Austin of Louisville; a niece, Betty J.Gorin-Smith (Gordon) and her husbandrsquo;s nephew, Robert Hill (Nancy) of Glasgow and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Dr. C. Russell Hill August 20, 1980 who was a professor of Economics at University of South Carolina; one sister, Floye Smith and three half brothers: Fonza Caulk, George Minor and Leslie Minor.

George Lewis Haynes of Campbellsville, son of the late Lee Haynes and Gertie Whitehead Haynes was born February 1, 1923 in Adair County, Kentucky. He died at 11:20 A.M., Sunday April 19, 2009 in Campbellsville. Age: 86
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
He was a retired employee of the Campbellsville Water Company and a farmer.
He united in marriage to Gertrude Wright October 10, 1942.
Besides his wife, Gertrude Haynes of Campbellsville, he is survived by four sons: Raymond Lewis Haynes and wife Mildred, Edward Lee Haynes, Gordon Haynes, and Marvin Haynes and wife Suellen all of Campbellsville; one foster daughter Elizabeth Gilbert and husband, Randel of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Chad Haynes and wife Amanda of Auburn, Kentucky, Amber Haynes of Bowling Green, Keith Wilcoxson, Jamie Morris and husband Keith and Ronnie Wilcoxson and wife Jonie of Campbellsville; three great-grandchildren: Arik Haynes, Wesley Haynes, and Rebecca Haynes of Auburn, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by one foster son, James Wilcoxson and three brothers: Paul Haynes, William Haynes, and Ernest Haynes.

Edwin Allen Gilpin , 87, of S. Columbia Ave, Campbellsville, Ky, died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Medco Nursing Home after an illness.

Katherine Blaydes Durham of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William Thomas Blaydes and Lanie Nell Parnell Blaydes was born March 15, 1923 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 12:30 A.M., Saturday April 18, 2009 in Greensburg. Age: 86
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She united in marriage to Robert Burress July 14, 1945.He preceded her in death March 21, 1974.
She united in marriage to Wilson Durham July 8, 1983. He preceded her in death January 10, 1996.
She is survived by one grandson, whom she raised, Ricky Bohannon and wife, Susan of Columbia; one great-grandson, Robert Wesley Bohannon of Elizabethtown; two great-great-grandchildren: Robert William Bohannon of Elizabethtown and Rickianne Bohannon of Columbia; one sister, Leoner Bennett of Columbia; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters and one brother: Hettie Salmon, Gertrude Ross, Elizabeth Breeding, Hazel Blaydes, and Herbert Blaydes.

Bobby Joe Burris

Bobby Joe Burris, age 68 of Taylors Chapel Road, Taylors Chapel Community in Green County, died Tuesday, at his residence after an illness.
He was the son of the late Rue Simpson and Hortense Carter Burris, also preceding him in death was one brother, Frankie Burris. He was a truck driver for RTC of Columbia, and farmer. He was a member of Taylors Chapel United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Rita Skaggs Burris, and two daughters and son-in-laws, Sandy and Steve Wright of Lexington, Beth and Craig Sprowles of Campbellsville, and two daughters, Angie Phillips Burris of Green County and Heather Burris of Tennessee. Eight grandchildren also survive along with one brother, Jackie Burris of Campbellsville, one sister, Betty Davis of Shepherdsville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Taylors Chapel Cemetery.

Sherry Morgan

Sherry Morgan, age 56 of Coakley Street, Campbellsville, died Monday at the Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Timmy and Deanna Webb of Campbellsville, two daughters, Donna Robertson of Campbellsville, and Rhonda Raymer of Morgantown. Eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild also survives along with her mother, Sybil Morgan of Lebanon, three brothers, Ronnie and Steve Morgan of Campbellsville and Tony Morgan of Greensburg, three sisters, Vicky Gribbins and Carla Mattingly both of Lebanon, and Tammy Erving of Glasgow.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Jesus Name Tabernacle Church Cemetery.
