Martha Nell Benningfield of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Malcom Newton and Elizabeth Agee Newton, was born April 27, 1937. She died at 10:54 P.M., Monday, January 26, 2009, in Louisville. Age: 71 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pitman Valley Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Charles Donald Benningfield October 4, 1952. Besides her husband, Don Benningfield, of Campbellsville, she is survived by two sons and two daughters: Rick Benningfield and wife, Wendy, Faye Clark and husband, Gordon Ray, Betty Wayne and husband, Buggy, and Billy Benningfield and wife, Tanya, of Campbellsville; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters-in-law: Glenn and Alma Newton, Orville and Rena Newton, Shorty and Delores Newton, Robbie and Diane Newton and Danny and Faye Newton, of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Bobby Joe Newcomb, age 71, of Lake Forest Drive, Campbellsville, died Saturday at the Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness. He was the son of the late Joseph Oliver and Emma Ford Newcomb. He was also preceded in death by his son Edward Dale Newcomb in 1989, also one brother Grover Newcomb. He was a real estate agent, builder, appraiser and worked for Cox Interior. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Newcomb, one son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Cindy Newcomb of Southwick, Massachusetts and two grandchildren, Audrey Jo and Carlie Beth Newcomb. He is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Barbara Newcomb of Campbellsville, one sister, Nadine Rainwater of Campbellsville and one sister-in-law, Iva Newcomb of Lebanon. Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Joe Newcomb will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Brookside Cemetery. Harold T. Coakley, 90, Candace Street, Campbellsville, died Thursday, January 22, 2009, at Golden Living Nursing Home after an illness. He was the son of the late Sam and Stella Underwood Coakley. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sue Shofner, and brother, Burford Coakely. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Edith Coakley of Campbellsville, three sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell Buck, George and Wanda Buck, and Danny and Brenda Buck all of Campbellsville, two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Les Gilpin, Betty and William Shively all of Campbellsville, fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a retired employee of Bourbon Cooperage. He united in marriage to Velma Waitman Karnes April 24, 1946. She preceded him in death March 3, 1995.
