Oscar Shipp of Campbellsville, son of the late Joseph Samuel Shipp and Georgia Earhart Shipp, was born July 25, 1922, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 5:40 A.M., Tuesday, January 6, 2009, in Campbellsville. Age: 86 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethel First Presbyterian Church. He was a retired farmer and had also been employed by the Taylor County ASCS Office and the Corp of Engineers. He united in marriage to Virginia Franklin December 24, 1941. Besides his wife, Virginia Shipp, of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and one daughter: Dr. Robert Shipp and wife, Linda K. and Linda Shofner and husband, Bobby of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Scott Shipp and wife, Andrea of Campbellsville, Robert Adam Shipp of Elizabethtown and Samantha Shipp of Louisville; two great-grandchildren: Mason Shipp and Addison Shipp of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Gilbert Shipp and Sylvan Altman and one grandson, Ryan Shipp June 12, 2008. Lynwood Durham

Lynwood Durham of Campbellsville, son of the late Irvin Durham and Ora Clark Durham, was born June 3, 1926, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 5:12 A.M., Monday, January 5, 2009, in Campbellsville. Age: 82 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Navy where he was a Seaman First Class and received the Victory Medal, the American Campaign Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal. He was retired from Fawcett-Dearing Printing Company in Louisville and later worked at Kroger after moving back to Campbellsville. He united in marriage to Dorothy Cave March 8, 1948. She preceded him in death January 5, 2004. He later united in marriage to Mary Lois Druin April 15, 2006. Besides his wife, Mary Lois Durham, of Campbellsville, he is survived by one daughter and two sons: Dianna Ross of Dayton, Ohio, Mike Durham and wife, Teresa of Louisville and Dr. Terry Durham and wife, Carole Dawn of Glasgow; one step-daughter, Sue Ellen Pike and husband, Chuck of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Julie Gore, Jarrad Durham, Lindsay Durham and Ryan Durham of Louisville and Brent Durham and wife, Linda of Floyds Knobs, Indiana and Taryn Durham of Glasgow; three great-grandchildren: Brianna Gore of Louisville, Christian Durham and Owen Durham of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; two brothers and two sisters: Mary Frances Blakeman, Loretta Willis, Oden Ray Durham and James Durham of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Freda Mable Underwood Thompson of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Van Cleveland Underwood and Lennie Agnes Allen Underwood, was born December 12, 1920, in Larue County, Kentucky. She died at 9:14 A.M., Saturday, January 3, 2009 in Campbellsville. Age 88 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church. She had been employed at Sandy Y Service Station as a clerk and was a housewife. She united in marriage to Frederick Thompson October 29, 1938. He preceded her in death January 7, 1991. She is survived by five daughters: Linda Nell Skaggs and husband, Harry, Shelia Diane Wethington and husband, Jackie, Marlene Hunt and husband, Gary of Campbellsville, Betty Jane Ducharme and husband, Dennis of Lexington and Sue Bryant and husband, Gregg of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters: Sammie Underwood and Dewey Underwood of Hodgenville; Myrtle Atwell and Chandler Underwood of Buffalo and Mary Henderson of Louisville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Eugene Earl Brayfield Eugene Earl Brayfield age 78, of Kensington Way, Campbellsville, died Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Taylor Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Harvey and Louise Brayfield. He attended Woodlawn Christian Church. He had a Central Drug Supply Company where he sold pharmeceuticals and supplies to physicians and hospitals, he was a Nursing Home Administrator at Monerey Nursing Home, Grove City Ohio, Regional Manager for Beacon Hill America.
