Wilma Jean Joyce, age 78, of Bluegrass Court, Campbellsville, died Friday, September 5, 2008 at Jane Todd Hospital after an illness. She is the daughter of the late Guy and Mattie Croan. She was a retired employee of Phillip Morris Company. She was united in marriage to Leroy Joyce on January 22, 1927, who survives. She is also survived by one niece, Jean Clark of Campbellsville, special friends Lummie Webster, Jo Ann Blevins both of Campbellsville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM, Monday, September 8, 2008 at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Cemetery. Bro. Robert F. ldquo;Bobrdquo; Johnson of Campbellsville, son of the late Aubrey Johnson and Mary Campbell Johnson, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, September 7, 1926. He died at 7:34 A.M., Thursday, September 4, 2008, in Campbellsville. Age: 81 He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Marines and attaining the rank of Private First Class. He had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Woodlawn Christian Church where he had served as a deacon for several years. He was a retired farmer and mechanic and had served on the Board of Directors for Southern States Cooperative. He united in marriage to Nancy Louise Cheatham December 20, 1954. She preceded him in death November 12, 1996. He is survived by one son and one daughter and spouses: Gary R. Johnson and wife, Toni and Kathy Newcome and husband, Wayne of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Brittany Johnson, Leigh Anne Johnson, Matthew Newcome, Aaron Newcome, John Newcome and Sarah Newcome of Campbellsville; three sisters: Helen Akridge and Peggy Jo Price of Campbellsville and Shirley Rose of Lexington; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Jimmie Ray Spurling of Campbellsville, son of the late W. G. Spurling and Mary Tarter Spurling, was born November 16, 1942, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 6:35 P.M., Tuesday, August 26, 2008, in Louisville. Age: 65 He retired from General Telephone Company after twenty-five years of service and had also been employed as a realtor for twenty plus years. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He united in marriage to Teresa Phillips January 18, 1963. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Phillips Spurling of Campbellsville; four sons and their spouses: Mark Spurling and wife, Kate of Shelbyville, David Spurling and wife, Karen of Lexington, Dr. Ronald Spurling and wife, Ana-Lisa of Rochester, New York, Aaron Spurling of Lexington; seven grandchildren: William Parker Spurling and Sarah Caitlyn Spurling of Louisville, Mark Allen Stinnett, Jr., Matthew Ryan Spurling and MacKenzie Leigh Spurling, of Lexington, Lucas Hanson Spurling and Collier Rhys Spurling of Rochester, New York; two brothers and three sisters: Edwin Spurling, Charles Spurling, Hazel Sullivan, Mattie Jean Smothers and Margaret Chappell of Campbellsville; nine nieces and ten nephews and a multitude of other relatives and friends. Eula Jessie of Campbellsville, daughter of the late James Alvin Fudge and Emma Jessie Fudge, was born in Adair County, Kentucky, May 8, 1922. She died at 7:14 A.M., Tuesday, August 26, 2008, in Campbellsville. Age: 86 She had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the South Campbellsville Baptist Church. She retired from the Fruit of the Loom after many years of service as an instructor. She united in marriage to Titus Jessie August 12, 1943. Member of First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City. Veteran of W.W.II having served as a Staff SGT. in the WAC Corps. She was retired from Pitney-Bowes with 17 years of service. Preceded in death by her husband, Harold Page; parents, Clarence and Fay Compton; and sister, Fay Grebe.
