Mildred Kabler, 82, of Bibb Street, Campbellsville died Friday, June 6, 2008 at her residence after an illness. She was the daughter of the late Hugh and Mattie Howston Donovan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Kabler, two brothers, Kenneth and James Donovan, two sisters, Virginia Blackburn and Veva Holliday. She survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Dan Allen of West Union Ohio, Gloria and Roger Helton of Felicity, Ohio, Frances and Ralph Kuechler of Jonesville, Kentucky, and Eva and Mike Heath of Harrodsburg, Ky, sixteen grandchildren, four step grandchildren, one brother, Albert Ross Donovan of Troy, Ohio. Cremation was chosen with memorial services to be at a later date in Neville, Ohio. Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Billy Joe Knifley, age 69, of Campbellsville, died Wednesday at his residence. He was the son of the late Charlie and Bonnie Blair Knifley, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Bro. James Knifley, one sister, Betty Lou Clements. He is survived by his wife Marian, three sons and their spouses Billy Ray Knifley of Henderson, Rodney and Vickie Knifley of Campbellsville , Terry and Tiara Knifley of Casey County, one daughter and her husband Marsha and Jimmy Wethington of Clementsville, four step-children, Annuel and Robert Flinchum, Jessica Barnes and Adrian Vazquez all of Campbellsville, two sisters, Jeanette Belton of Indiana and Judy Sanders of Florida, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, and six step-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.. Funeral services will be conducted at 10AM, Saturday at Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home with burial to follow at Dunbar Hill Cemetery. Bro Chris Copher, officiating.

Rev. J. V. Mullen, Jr. of Campbellsville, son of the late John V. Mullen, Sr. and Fannie T. Sanford Mullen, was born May 30, 1919, in Logan County, Kentucky. He died at 1:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 4, 2008 in Campbellsville. Age: 89 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Lowell Avenue Baptist. He was ordained into the ministry in 1952 at Dripping Springs Baptist Church in Logan County, Kentucky and pastored for forty-nine years serving churches in Adair, Green, Marion, Taylor and Muhlenberg Counties and Newark, Ohio. He was a former Campbellsville-Taylor County Rescue Chaplain. He united in marriage to Hazel Hightower November 4, 1939. She preceded him in death December 4, 2005. He is survived by three daughters: Nancy Mullen Brockman and husband, Donald of Campbellsville, Vivian Mullen Banks and husband, Leonard of Stanford and Peggy Mullen Boulware and husband, Charlie of Plant City, Florida; four grandchildren: William Shoemaker and wife, Tammy of Campbellsville, Lynnette Banks Goss and husband, Billy and Deborah Banks Gibson and husband, Steven of Stanford and John King and wife, Jennifer of Verona; eight great-grandchildren; three nieces; two nephews and many other relatives and friends. Raymond Lewis of Campbellsville, son of the late Lester Lewis and Nannie McDaniel Lewis, was born October 6, 1921, in Adair County, Kentucky. He was gently taken to be with his Lord and Savior at 9:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 28, 2008 in Wilmore and now rests in the hands of God. Age: 86He was retired from Fruit of the Loom after thirty-two years. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he served as lay leader, chairman of administrative board and taught Sunday School for many years.He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War having served his country honorably in the United States Army and achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a rifleman with the 8th Infantry Division and served in Ireland, Normandy, Northern France and Germany. He was awarded the American Campaign Medal, European Middle Eastern Medal with three stars, World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart with one star and the Bronze Star. He united in marriage to Margaret Jane Trotter August 8, 1947. Besides his wife, Margaret Lewis of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: George Raymond and Jackie Lewis of Lexington; two granddaughters: Abigail Elizabeth Lewis and Meredith Paige Lewis of Lexington; three special nephews: J. Martin Rainwater of Campbellsville, son of Sharon Kay Martin Herron and the late Walter Douglas Rainwater, was born July 10, 1969, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 7:05 A.M., Thursday, May 22, 2008 in Elizabethtown as the result of a motorcycle accident. Age: 38 He was employed as an industrial maintenance electrician at Dana Corporation. He was a 1987 graduate of Taylor County High School. He was also a graduate of Elizabethtown Community amp; Technical College with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Electrical Technology on May 14, 2005, where he graduated with high distinction and honors. He was a member of Local UAW 3047 in Elizabethtown. He professed faith in Christ and attended Oak Hill Baptist Church in Sonora. He was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm having served his country honorably in the United States Air Force as a sergeant and was awarded the Air Force Longevity Service Award, Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, and Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one device. He united in marriage to Regina Kay Price May 18, 1996.
