Walter Edmon Miller

Edmon Miller, 82, of Campbellsville, died on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Medco Nursing Home after an illness. He was the son of the late Herlie and Mattie Skaggs Miller, he was born on August 8, 1926 in Marion County, Kentucky. He was united in marriage to Christine Thompson Miller on December 22, 1943. She preceded him in death in October 2000. He was retired owner and operator of Miller Lumber Company and a farmer. He was a member of the Mt. Washington Baptist Church where he served as deacon for 54 years and song leader for 41 years. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas Miller, Charlie Miller, Chester Earl Miller and three sisters, Kate Bell, Gladys Thompson and Mary Pearl Miller. He is survived by five children and their spouses, Verlas and Bettie Miller, Garry L and Phyllis Miller, Roger and Karen Miller, Jeanette and Gary Lynn Goodin all of Campbellsville, and Jean and Dennis Doughman of Seminole, Florida , Fourteen grandchildren, Cindy Hiestand, Cheryl Ritter, Ronna Mills, Scott Miller, Aaron Miller, Daniel Miller, Rebecca Miller, Ryan Miller, Chasidy Thompson, Tamara Prather, Jamie Goodin, Wendy Grant, Joey Goodin and Joshua Pike, twenty one great-grandchildren, Brittany and Shawn Mills, Lori, Michael and Katie Hiestand, Clarice, CaRynne and Cayla Ritter, Grayson and Julianne Miller, Mattie and Avery Miller, Magdalena Miller, Lacey, Lilly and Landon Miller, Tyler Goodin, Abigail and Jasmine Grant, Cameron and Jacob Goodin, one sister, Myrtle Huber and one sister-in-law, Ruby Miller both of Campbellsville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 18, 2008 at the Mt. Washington Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating, Rev. Margaret Gabehart of Lebanon, formerly of Mannsville, daughter of the late Vance Pennington and Helen Belton Pennington, was born in Casey County, Kentucky, October 11, 1939. She died at 11:51 A.M., Wednesday, September 10, 2008, in Lebanon. Age: 68 She had professed faith in Christ and attended the Lebanon Christian Church. She united in marriage to Carl Lewis Gabehart June 30, 1967. He preceded her in death August 9, 1998. Majeal Benningfield Hutchins of Mobile, Alabama, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Sammy T. Benningfield and Rinnie L. Short Benningfield, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, July 17, 1921. She died at 6:55 P.M., Tuesday, September 9, 2008, in Florida. Age: 87 She had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Dauphin Way Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama. She united in marriage to Clyde Hutchins May 28, 1944. He preceded her in death August 24, 1995. She was a retired employee of Phillip Morris Company. She was united in marriage to Leroy Joyce on January 22, 1927, who survives. Robert F. ldquo;Bobrdquo; Johnson of Campbellsville, son of the late Aubrey Johnson and Mary Campbell Johnson, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, September 7, 1926. He died at 7:34 A.M., Thursday, September 4, 2008, in Campbellsville. Age: 81 He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Marines and attaining the rank of Private First Class. He had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Woodlawn Christian Church where he had served as a deacon for several years. He was a retired farmer and mechanic and had served on the Board of Directors for Southern States Cooperative. He united in marriage to Nancy Louise Cheatham December 20, 1954. She preceded him in death November 12, 1996. He is survived by one son and one daughter and spouses: Gary R. Age: 65 He retired from General Telephone Company after twenty-five years of service and had also been employed as a realtor for twenty plus years.
