John Shelby Chandler, Jr age 80, of N. Columbia Avenue, Campbellsville, died Tuesday at the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home after an illness.He was a lifelong member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his parents, John Shelby and Betty Buckner Chandler and two brother, Larry V. Chandler and Robert Chandler.He is survived by one brother, Jerry Chandler of Campbellsville, two sisters and brother-in-law, Jean and Bob Davis of Savannah, Georgia, Annette Chandler of Campbellsville, one sister-in-law, Mary H. Crafton (formerly Chandler) of Virginia, nephews and spouses, Alan and Kathy Chandler, Keith and Sharon Chandler of Campbellsville, Mike Weeks of Alabama, Steve Davis of Florida, John and Bruce Davis of Illinois, Lisa Chandler Agent of Memphis, Tennessee, Diane Rigsby, of Indianapolis, Jill Davis Muller of Illinois and Donna Davis Hansen of Wisconsin. Also surviving are great nieces and nephews, Lindsay and Laura Chandler of Campbellsville, Nick Chandler of Nashville, Kelly Chandler of Evansville, Sarah Rigsby, of Indianapolis, Abby and Shelby Hall of Tennessee and several cousins and a host of friends.Funeral services for John Shelby Chandler, Jr will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Mrs. Clara Leona Hughes 80Mrs. Clara Leona Huches, age 80, of Speck Ridge Road, Elkhorn, died Monday, September 26, 2005, at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg after an illness.She was the daughter of the late Shelby Bottoms and Alice Greer Bottoms of Taylor County. She was a member of the Feathersburg Church of God, a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom and Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Hughes, two sons, Ronnie and Charles Hughes, one sister, Hazel Beasley and four brothers, James, Lenny, Oakley and Ronald Bottoms.Mrs. Hughes is survived by one son, six daughters and their spouses, Donnie and Kaye Hughes, Jean and Coy Cox, Linda and Dallon Wethington, Rose and Jerry Cox, Eveleen and Jan Burkhead, Kathleen and Stacy Davis and Bonnie and Larry Wilson all of Campbellsville. Fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren also survive along with one brother, J.D. Bottoms of Texas, five sisters, Margaret Shively of Finley, Ruth Price and Rita Cobb both of Campbellsville and Mary Nelson and Carolyn Thompson both of Louisville and one daughter-in-law and her spouse, Irene and Jack Allen Perkins of Campbellsville.Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Leona Hughes will be held at 11:00 A.M. Josephine Close Cox of Louisville, a native of Campbellsville, daughter of the late John Frank Close and Sally Newcomb Close was born January 13, 1921 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died Thursday, September 22, 2005 after a brief illness in Louisville. She united in marriage to Granville R. Cox on November 18, 1944. He preceded her in death October 18, 1959.She is survived by two children and their spouses: Cindy and Jim Britt of Louisville and John and Diane Cox of Morehead; four granddaughters: Ashley Britt Redman of Louisville, Emily Britt Hahn of Newport Beach, California, Harper Close Cox of Hawaii and Sarah Cox Rowlands of Ashton, Virginia; one brother, Robert Close of Dallas, Texas, and many beloved nieces and nephews. William Ed Garrett of Smith Ridge Road, Campbellsville, son of the late Noah Garrett and Dora Tucker Garrett was born June 29, 1922 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 7:25 A.M., Thursday, September 22, 2005 in Campbellsville. Age: 83 He professed faith in Christ and was of the Holiness faith. He was a retired farmer.
