Josephine Close Cox of Louisville, a native of Campbellsville, daughter of the late John Frank Close and Sally Newcomb Close was born January 13, 1921 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died Thursday, September 22, 2005 after a brief illness in Louisville. She united in marriage to Granville R. Cox on November 18, 1944. He preceded her in death October 18, 1959.She is survived by two children and their spouses: Cindy and Jim Britt of Louisville and John and Diane Cox of Morehead; four granddaughters: Ashley Britt Redman of Louisville, Emily Britt Hahn of Newport Beach, California, Harper Close Cox of Hawaii and Sarah Cox Rowlands of Ashton, Virginia; one brother, Robert Close of Dallas, Texas, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: James Close and William Close. GRAVESIDE SERVICES: 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 23, 2005 at Lebanon National Cemetery by Dr. J. William Ed Garrett of Smith Ridge Road, Campbellsville, son of the late Noah Garrett and Dora Tucker Garrett was born June 29, 1922 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 7:25 A.M., Thursday, September 22, 2005 in Campbellsville. Age: 83 He professed faith in Christ and was of the Holiness faith. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by two sisters and one brother: Estelle Cox and Susan Pendleton of Campbellsville and Earl Garrett of Bradfordsville; several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother, Ada Cox and Jessie Garrett. He preceded her in death on February 27, 1977.She united in marriage to Len Smith on June 15, 1979. Nancy Shields Kovalainen of Palestine Road, Campbellsville, daughter of the late Oscar L. Frye and Addie McFarland Frye was born October 8, 1922 in Fayette County, Kentucky. Jessie Mae Perkins, age 89, of West Broadway, Campbellsville, died Thursday, September 15, 2005 at the Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia after an illness.She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Mollie Helms Lewis, four sons, Davis Perkins, Donnie Perkins, Jackie Perkins and Allen Perkins, three brothers, James Lewis, Bobby Lewis and Edgar Lewis and also one sister, Owida Lewis.She is survived by six children, Delbert Perkins, William Perkins, Ronnie Perkins and Stella Callahan, all of Knifley, Mary Abston of Indiana and Margaret Moss of Columbia. Paul Allen Gilpin, died Monday, September 12, 2005 at Hardin Memorial Hospital.He is the infant son of Paula and Jonathan Gilpin of Campbellsville. Surviving him are his grandparents, Marilyn Rogers of Campbellsville and Dwight and Alene Gilpin of Campbellsville, and Grandfather James Johnson of Campbellsville. Also surviving are his Great-grandparents Margie Scigall of Campbellsville, Kyle Burton of Columbia, and Louise Johnson of Florida. Also his brother Justin Gilpin and half brothers, Wayne and Chris Gilpin. Harvey R. Gore,age 82 died Friday, September 9, 2005 in Campbellsville.He was a veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam and retired after twenty-six years service in the Air Force.He was a member of the Campbellsville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.He is survived by his wife, Gladys Gardner Gore; one son Dr. David Gore of Lexington;three sisters and one brother: Jean Brockman and H.C.
