Mildred Holmes of Earl Avenue, Campbellsville, daughter of the late George Hartwell Smith and Lula Thomas Dudgeon Smith was born December 8, 1932 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 12:04 P.M., Thursday, November 3, 2005 in Campbellsville. Age: 72 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She united in marriage to George T. Holmes, July 5, 1950. He preceded her in death April 5, 1992. She is survived by three sons and three daughters: Doug Holmes Sr. and wife Brenda, Kevin Holmes, Mark Holmes, Debbie Holmes, Pam Huber and husband Danny of Campbellsville, and Marlene Holmes of Lebanon Junction; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. Sue Kathryn Thomas McKinley of Plainview Drive, Campbellsville, daughter of Ruth Parrish Thomas and the late Hugh Thomas was born October 16, 1932 in Adair County, Kentucky. She died at 5:45 A.M., Tuesday, November 1, 2005 in Campbellsville. Age: 73 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Christian Church. She was co-owner of McKinley Monument Company and retired after some fifty years of service. She united in marriage to Adolphus L. McKinley October 11, 1950. He preceded her in death June 23, 1983. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: John David and Missy McKinley and Mark and Vickie McKinley of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Simon McKinley Hedeen of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Sarah McKinley, Maggie McKinley, Rachel McKinley and Ellie McKinley of Campbellsville; two step-grandsons: Casey Baker and Cody Baker of Campbellsville; her mother, Ruth Thomas of Columbia; one sister, Ann Olt of Greensburg; many other relatives and friends. Nancy Thomas of Crescent Hill, Campbellsville, daughter of the late William A. Bricken and Ruth Long Bricken was born February 10, 1905 in Russell County, Kentucky. She died at 6:45 P.M. Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Woodland Terrace Healthcare Facility in Elizabethtown. Age: 100 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Christian Church. She united in marriage to I.G. Thomas in 1934. He preceded her in death in 1954. She retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. She is survived by one daughter, Bettye I. Noble E. Howard of Cambridge Way, Campbellsville, son of the late Clarence Howard and Ethel McDonald Howard was born in Corbin, Kentucky, November 6, 1924. He died at 6:00 A.M., Saturday, October 8, 2005, in Campbellsville. Age: 80He professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. He was a former Deacon at First Baptist Church in Russell Springs.He was a renowned farmer in Taylor County for many years, receiving many awards and citations. He retired as District Conservationist with the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service. He was involved many years with Little League Baseball, served on the Board of Directors of Taylor County Farm Bureau, and was charter member of the Taylor County Agricultural Council. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. He united in marriage to Marsha Hammonds December 22, 1950.
