Melvin Ray Underwood of Old Mac Road, Campbellsville, son of the late Bennie Underwood and Lula Bloyd Underwood was bornJune 22, 1932 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 5:02 A.M., Thursday, November 11, 2004 in Campbellsville. Age: 72He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Army. He united in marriage to Gay Karnes October 9, 1959. Besides his wife, Gay Underwood of Old Mac Road, Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and one daughter and their spouses: Douglas Ray and Darrelyn Underwood and Lisa Ann and Bobby Kirtley; four grandchildren: Ashley Kirtley, LeAnna Kirtley, Megan Underwood and Ryan Underwood; one brother and his wife, Syndal and Edith Underwood, all of Campbellsville; many other relatives and friends. Edith Cave Sapp of Pearl Avenue, Campbellsville, was born in Clay County, Kentucky, November 16, 1925. She died at 5:55 A.M., Sunday, November 7, 2004, in Campbellsville. Age: 78 She professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a charter member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School and was active in the church for many years.She was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.She united in marriage to Thomas W. Sapp December 23, 1941. He preceded her in death April 9, 1998. She is survived by two sons and one daughter and their spouses: Tommy W. Sapp Jr. and Debbie, Michael L. and Shirley Sapp, and Sherri and Dr. James Angel of Campbellsville; ten grandchildren: Jason A. Sapp, Dawn M. Mardis, Dana M. Sapp, J. Marshall Hovious 78Mr. Marshall Hovious, age 78, of Campbellsville, formerly of Knifley, Kentucky, died on Monday November 8, 2004, at Veterans Hospital in Louisville, Ky.He was the son of the late Benjamin V. and Myrtie Hovious of Adair County, Ky. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Troy Hovious, Buel Hovious, two half brothers, Jack Hovious and Mont Hovious and one half sister Annie Holt and one grandchild, Stephanie Hovious. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of Christie Chapel United Methodist Church, where he served as a song leader and Sunday School superintendent for many year. He is survived by his wife, Maudye A. Feese Hovious, two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Charlotte Hovious of Elkhorn, Phillip and Sharon Hovious of Elkhorn, one daughter and son-in-law, Marsha Ann and Alvin Humphress of Elkhorn, one sister, Gladys Overstreet of Campbellsville, five grandchildren, Monica Hovious, Brandon Hovious, Tyler Hovious, Amy Bardin and her husband Chad, and Amanda Humphress, one great-grandchild, Kylee Bardin.Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends survive.Funeral services for Mr. Marshall Hovious will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Humphress-Hovious Cemetery in Knifley with full military honors by the Marion County DAV.Rev.
