He was a fifty year member of the Rio Verde Masonic Lodge #698 F A.M. in Canmer, Kentucky, fifty year member of the Campbellsville Lions Club and Charter Member of Taylor Regional Hospital Board of Directors. He previously served as Trustee of Bethel College, and was a member of the Denominational Board of Finance. He was a former Agricultural teacher for Taylor County High School. He was a member of the Soil Conservation Board and active in fund raising for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army. He united in marriage to Alta Adams September 10, 1947. Besides his wife, Alta Hensley of Old Lebanon Road, Campbellsville, he is survived by one brother and two sisters: Eldon Hensley and wife Gloria of Horse Cave, Kentucky, Rowena Hines and husband Roy of Nashville, Tennessee, and Grace Counts and husband Bob of Englewood, Florida; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
