Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” Glover

Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” Glover of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William Robert Shively and Virgie Mae Sapp Shively, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, August 5, 1936.  She died at 4:11 P.M., Monday, September 16, 2013, in Campbellsville.   Age:   77

She professed faith in Christ and was of the Church of God faith.

She was an employee of Shoe Sensation in Campbellsville and a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom.

She is survived by two sons:  Marshall Glover of Campbellsville and Robert Glover of Louisville; one sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Joe Dudgeon of Campbellsville; one sister-in-law, Paula Shively of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters:  Leo Shively, Pauline Shively and Lorene Christie.

William “Bill” Peters of Elizabethtown, formerly of Campbellsville, son of the late Arch Peters and Bertha Isaacs Peters, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, November 12, 1926.   He died at 2:20 A.M., Monday, September 16, 2013, in Elizabethtown.

Age:   86

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Elizabethtown.

He had served as a deacon at Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church and Saloma Baptist Church.

He was a retired employee of the Taylor County Road Department and a farmer.

He united in marriage to Neoma Caulk June 17, 1944.

Besides his wife, Neoma Peters of Elizabethtown, he is survived by three daughters:  Donna Edwards and husband, Allen of Elizabethtown, Susan Kleindl and husband, Gary of Lexington and Nancy Williams and husband, Rev. Tommy Williams of Kingsport, Tennessee; two grandchildren:  Dena Porter and husband, Bond and David Williams and wife, Tracy of Kingsport, Tennessee; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters:  Robert Peters, Charles Peters, Margaret Gilbert and Pearl Sullivan.

Rev. Samuel Carl Holmes

Rev. Samuel Carl Holmes, of Campbellsville, son of the late Alonzo Holmes and Florence Burton Holmes, was born June 14, 1927, in Adair County, Kentucky.  He died at 11:00 P.M., Friday, September 13, 2013 in Campbellsville.    Age:  86 He professed faith in Christ and attended Jesus Name Church. He was a veteran of World War II and served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. He united in marriage to Ella Johnson on March 1, 1947. Besides his wife, Ella Holmes, he is survived by five sons and four daughters: Danny Holmes, Terry Holmes, Pam Russell and husband, Jerry, Judy Jones and husband, Jimmy, Janey Read and husband, Lemuel of Campbellsville, Linda Sharpe and husband, Edward of Greensburg, Ronnie Holmes of Finley, Ohio, Jerry Holmes and wife, Nancy of St. Paul, Indiana, and Sam Holmes of Greenwood, Indiana; fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers: Edgar Holmes of Columbia and Rev. Charles Holmes of Louisville. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren: Bethany Mann and Todd Holmes, two sisters and two brothers: Marie Vaughn, Lucille Roy, J.C. Holmes and Herbert Holmes.
