Paul Sherman Gunter, age 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Norton’s Pavilion Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born April 28, 1943, in Louisville, KY to Paul H. and Edith Lee Gunter.
Sherman professed his faith in Christ as a young man. He had many jobs during his life from building interstate roads to ending his working career at the Marion County School Board of Education after 34 years of service. Sherman truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, spending time with family and friends, playing a good game of checkers, rook, pitching horseshoes, fishing, playing cornhole, and bowling. He mastered every game and had many awards, trophies, titles and rings earned through his accomplishments.
Sherman united to the love of his life, Ola Sallee on November 23, 1961, who preceded him in death on October 8, 2007. To this union 3 children survive, Paul Anthony Gunter, Sherry (Jeff) Kerr, and Karen (Glenn) Shuck. Also 4 grandchildren Sarah (Dallas) Coomer, Thomas Lee (Autumn) Kerr, Marshall Paul Shuck, and Dennis Michael Shuck. Great grandchildren are Ryan, Kelci, Macy, Nicholas, Ozzy, Axel, Shayla, Denver, Winston, Scarlett, Della Jo, and Nova Jean.
Also surviving two sisters Jean (Buford) Sallee, and Kathy Spray, and little brother Eddie (Vernice) Gunter. As well as, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a host of teammates.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Shuck.
The Funeral Service for Paul Sherman Gunter will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Old Liberty Cemetery.
Bro. Bo Sherrill will officiate.
The family has requested visitation on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Kosair Charities/Kosair for Kids and may be made online below or at the funeral home.

Ms. Beverly Lynn Kirtley was born in Taylor County on November 11, 1959. She was the second child to Edd Kirtley, Jr. and Juliet (Graves) Kirtley. She departed this life on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the Taylor Regional Hospital.
She professed her faith at a young age at Pleasant Union Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Donahue Price, and served faithfully there until her death.
Ms. Kirtley was employed at Fruit of the Loom for many years. She loved all sports but she was definitely a Louisville fan. She was a sweet, gentle soul who was loved by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edd and Juliet Kirtley, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She leaves to cherish her memory:
Her loving siblings: Deborah Kirtley Smith (Michael), Shirley Kirtley, Sheryl Kirtley, and Lisa Kirtley, all of Campbellsville, and Daryl Kirtley of Paducah,
Aunts: Louie Ferrell of Sun City West, AZ, and Margaret Ann Spaulding of Louisville,
Uncles: Charles Graves of Johns Creek, GA, David Graves of Louisville, and John Graves of Palmdale, CA,
And several cousins and other relatives and friends.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Ms. Kirtley on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Pleasant Union Baptist Church, 426 Fallen Timber Rd, Campbellsville, KY, with cremation to follow. Her ashes will be interred in the church cemetery at a later date.
The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, Jan. 15, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral. A meal will be served for the family and friends in the church dining hall following the service.
The family of Ms. Beverly Kirtley wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concerns and kindness shown to them during their time of bereavement. Beverly touched the lives of many people and will be truly missed. May God bless and keep you.

Carl Lewis Graham of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late George T. Graham and Zana Vernice Bottoms Graham was born on August 20, 1941, and departed this life on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 83 years of age.
He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith. He was employed in pipeline construction and was a mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars, and woodworking and was very artistic, and he loved spending time with his family and driving his hot rod cars.
He is survived by three children: Ann Hollins and her husband Ramon, Frankie Graham, and Mikey “Prowler” Graham and his wife Shannon all of Campbellsville. Six grandchildren: Christopher Hollins (Kris), Krystal Cain (Adam), Eddie Davis (Teri), Billy Davis, Abigayle Graham, and Shelby Graham. Twenty-one great-grandchildren: Leeanna, Kimber, Briar, Kinley, Maddie, Brianna, Braydon C., Kadin, Anne Taylor, Isabella, Kinsley, Blayne, Brayce, Braydon, Masin, Addison, Gabrielle, Alec, Zach, Logan and Landon.
Also surviving is one brother: Bobby Graham of Louisiana, and one sister: Camillia Ballard of Louisville. His lifelong friend: Herbert Veatch, his caregivers and special friends: Robbie and Rachel Everage.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Casey LaChelle Day, and four siblings: Edward Monroe Graham, George Lewis Graham, Dwight Graham, and Mary Murphy.
There will be a Funeral Service for Carl Lewis Graham at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery.
Bro. Ramon Hollins and Bro. Robbie Everage will officiate.
The family requested visitation on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 5 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
