Roger Thomas Land of Campbellsville, son of the late Tommy Land and Nellie Noel Land, was born August 16, 1942 in Casey County, Kentucky.  He died at 10:27 A.M., Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in Campbellsville.    Age: 70

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Living Grace Church.

He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom after forty-two years of service.

He united in marriage to Anita Cox February 4, 1961.

Besides his wife, Anita Land of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and one daughter:  Mitchell Thomas Land and wife, Lisa of Louisville and Melinda DeSpain and husband, Kevin of Campbellsville; three grandchildren:  Brandon Thomas Humphries, Tara Wallace and Carrie Jo DeSpain; four great-grandchildren:  Traxton Thomas Wallace, Dalton Cox, Landon Cox and Tatum Caulk; three sisters and one brother:  Jo Colvin and husband, Richard of Campbellsville, Sharon Spear and husband, Homer of Liberty, Sandy DeHart and husband, Bill of Winchester and Donald Land and wife, Shirley of Liberty; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Virginia Shipp

Virginia Shipp of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Elmer Franklin and Elsie Keltner Franklin, was born September 16, 1923, in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died at 8:10 P.M., Monday, February 25, 2013 in Greensburg.        Age: 89

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Bethel First Presbyterian Church.

She united in marriage to Oscar Shipp December 24, 1941.  He preceded her in death January 6, 2009.

She is survived by one son and one daughter:  Dr. Robert Shipp and wife, Linda and Linda Shofner and husband, Bobby of Campbellsville; three grandchildren:  Scott Shipp and wife, Andrea and Samantha Shipp of Campbellsville and Robert Adam Shipp of Elizabethtown; five great-grandchildren:  Mason Shipp, Addison Shipp, Skyler Shipp, Charles Ryan “Kade” Wichmann and Cameron Wichmann; two sisters:  Lucille Brockman and husband, Charles of Campbellsville and Christine Eschmann of Denton, Texas; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Shipp June 12, 2008 and one brother and one sister:  Robert Huston Franklin and Audrey Johnston.

          Ida Bell Corbin, age 90, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab in Taylor County.

          Ida Bell was the daughter of the late Virginia Alice Pike Perkins and Ben Harrison Perkins, she was also preceded in death by her husband Linward Buddy Beal, one daughter Lillie Mae Sherrell, one brother Ed Perkins, three sisters Venetta Barnet, Irene Bault and Mattie Perkins.

          She was a member of the St Andrews Methodist Church; she was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister, as well as a loving friend to many.  Ms Corbin worked in many place in the community; Wal-Mart and The Wishy Washy Laundry Mat both in Central Plaza Shopping Center and the Taylor County Lunchroom.

          She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Tommy and Donna Corbin and one daughter Brenda Shofner all of Campbellsville, five grandchildren; Brad and Chad Shofner, Blake Corbin, Melinda Thompson and Trista Moss, three great grandchildren; Amerbly Gayle Thompson, Brandon Lewis Thompson and Dalton Trey Shoftner, three sisters Margaret Barnet, Virginia Askven and Loretta Sharp all of Campbellsville, along with a host of family and friends.

          Graveside services for Ms. Ida Bell Corbin were conducted at 11 AM Thursday, February 28, 2013 in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
