Morris Horn

Morris Horn of Campbellsville, son of the late Bush Horn and Zelma Ransdell Horn was born in Mercer County, Kentucky, September 1, 1934.   He died at 3:15 P.M., Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in Campbellsville.     Age:   78

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethel First Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and offered valuable leadership on various committees.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He was a lifelong farmer and served on many agriculture and civic boards including:  Taylor County Soil Conservation for forty plus years, Taylor County Hospital Board for three terms, chairman of the RC&D Lake Cumberland Area, 4-H Council and Extension Council, Dairy Association and Beef Cattle Association, and was twice named Agriculture Person of the Year.

He united in marriage to Jane Mitchell December 28, 1957.

Besides his wife, Jane Horn, he is survived by one son and one daughter:  Todd Horn and wife, Lynn of Campbellsville and Susan Dyer and husband, Darel of Chattanooga, Tennessee; six grandchildren:  Jacob, Weston, Baylan, Logan, Lennon and Allie; one sister, Virginia Chumley of Mercer County; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Paul Everett Rogers

Paul Everett Rogers of Campbellsville, son of the late Ernest Belmont Rogers and Mayme Gaines Rogers, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, October 18, 1927.   He died at 4:50 A.M., Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in Campbellsville.     Age:  85

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Millers Chapel United Methodist Church.

He retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville as a supervisor after some thirty-five years of service and served on the Campbellsville Water Board for thirty years.

He is survived by two daughters:  Linda Rogers of Campbellsville and Delois Taylor and husband, Jim of Ft. Myers, Florida; five grandchildren:  Mark Dudgeon and wife, Chris and Deanna Hunt and husband, Robbie of Campbellsville, Traci Hooper and husband, Joe of Nolensville, Tennessee, Jessica Steward and husband, Travis of Russellville, Kentucky and Brandi Connelly of Jonesboro, Arkansas; twelve great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; mother of his children, Mary Catherine Gaines of Campbellsville; two brothers and two sisters:  Clay Rogers, Hollis Rogers and Margaret Phillips of Campbellsville and Fannie Belle Sapp of Gallatin, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters:  Richard Rogers, John Shelby Rogers, Louise Buck and Cleo Fryback.

Keith “Kelly” Lee Shipp

Keith “Kelly” Lee Shipp of LaGrange, formerly of Campbellsville, son of the late Claude Allison Shipp and Ada Emmons Pedigo Shipp Osborn, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, May 7, 1937.   He died at 10:45 P.M., Tuesday, May 7, 2013in Shelbyville, Kentucky.   Age:    76

He professed faith in Christ and attended the Fisherville Church of Christ in Fisherville and Bible Baptist Church in Campbellsville.

He was a retired hairdresser, farmer and businessman.

He was a life-long member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by one son, Keith Lee Shipp II and wife, Tammy of Conway, Arkansas; one grandson, Mitchell Shipp of Conway, Arkansas; one sister and one brother:  Barbara Lackore and husband, James of LaGrange and George E. Shipp of Marysville, Ohio; four nephews:  Shawn Troy Shipp, Kirk Allison Shipp, Jacque Shipp and Ogden Shipp and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Mitchum Kelly Shipp May 24, 2004.
