Kathryn Bland Smith

Kathryn Bland Smith of Maryville, Tennessee, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ira Grant and Florence Bryant Grant was born February 15, 1922 in Adair County, Kentucky. She died at 2:50 A.M., Saturday, November 10, 2012 in Maryville, Tennessee.           Age: 90

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

She was a former employee of Campbellsville Cleaners.

She united in marriage to James Bland December 9, 1939. He preceded her in death April 7, 1958.

She united in marriage to James W. Smith March 22, 1963. He preceded her in death October 9, 2002.

She is survived by two sons: J.T. Bland of Campbellsville and Michael Bland and wife, Lee Ann of Maryville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren: Craig Bland and wife Maria, Ryan Bland and wife, Kim, David Bland, Christy Shuffett and husband, Scott, Laura Jo Minor and husband Michael, Grant Bland and wife, Kasey and Tyler Bland and wife Nicole; one step-granddaughter, Margie Ross; six great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Grant and Ralph Grant of Indianapolis, Indiana; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one sister and three brothers: Edna McGaha, James Grant, Marshall Grant and Everett Grant.

Marion County man dies after being shot in Raywick, Ky

At approximately 1:36AM the Kentucky State Police received a call from Marion County Dispatch in regards to a shooting that took place outside Raywick Bar and Grill.  The shooting led to 22 year old, David Litsey of Lebanon being transported to Springview Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.  An autopsy has been scheduled for today at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville.  The details surrounding the shooting are still under investigation and the Kentucky State Police are asking anyone with information to contact local Law Enforcement or the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555.  KSP was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and the Marion County Coroner.  Detective Bradly Stotts is investigating.

Hettie McDonald, age 91 died, Tuesday, November 06, 2012 at Medco Nursing Home in Campbellsville.
She is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law; Lindsey McDonald, Norman McDonald, Weldon and Susie McDonald all of Campbellsville, one daughter and son-in-law; Margaret and Paul Werner of Tenn., two brothers Bradley Hoosier and Willie Hoosier, three sisters Nellie Goode, Onie Abell and Zelma Lotter all of Campbellsville.
Service will be conducted at 10 AM Thursday, November 8, 2012 Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Family request visitation Wednesday 5-7 PM at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home.
