John Fay

John Fay of Campbellsville, son of the late John Fay and Mary Feeney Fay was born January 25, 1924 in New Rochelle, New York. He died at 6:20 P.M., Sunday, May 1st, 2011 in Campbellsville. Age: 87

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and a long time volunteer at the C& S Mission store.

He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Navy.

He was a retired engineer at Parker Kalon.

He united in marriage to Mary Sue Galvin October 27, 1956. She preceded him in death March 22, 1997.

He is survived by five daughters and one son and their spouses: Mary Lou and Richard Ross of Georgia, Margaret and Stephen Bertrand, Susan and Stan Milby, and Joanne and Gary Mowery of North Carolina, Jeanne and Tony Smith of Campbellsville, and John and Yvonne Fay of Hodgenville; eleven grandchildren: Faith Ann Moffatt, Margaret-Ann Melvin, Steven Ross, Robert Ross, Amanda Smith, Heather Smith, Whitney Milby, Brittany Milby, Dalton Fay, Mason Fay and Nova Fay; four great-grandchildren: Carol Ann Melvin, James Joseph Melvin, Elese Ann Moffatt, Aidyn Charles Woodward; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

VISITATION: 5:00 P.M. Thursday, May 5, 2011

FUNERAL SERVICE:  10:00 A.M., Friday, May 6, 2011, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Campbellsville by Rev. James Bromwich

 

BURIAL:                       Lebanon National Cemetery with full military

                                      honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor

Greg Vaughn

Greg Vaughn of Campbellsville, son of the late William Follis and Nelle Bryan Vaughn was born October 21, 1947 in Marion County, Kentucky. He died at 5:32 A.M., Monday, May 2, 2011 in Campbellsville.     Age:  63

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served his country honorably in the United States Marines.

He was a master electrician and currently employed at Campbellsville University.

He was president of the Twelfth Man Club at Campbellsville University.

He is survived by his wife, Patty Baxter Vaughn of Campbellsville; one daughter, Amy Pardue and husband, Joey of Bowling Green; two step-sons: Pike Hightower and wife, Dawn of White, Georgia and Jeb Hightower of Lexington; one granddaughter, Chloe Layne Decker; one step-grandson, Kipling Judah Hightower; three brothers and one sister: Charles Vaughn and wife Karen, and Karen Hayes and husband Bobby of Campbellsville, Denny Vaughn of Memphis, Tennessee, and John Vaughn and wife June of Glasgow;  several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Mae Prentyce Long

Mae Prentyce Long, age 70 of  North Otter Creek Road, Buffalo died Friday, April 29, 2011 at her residence after an illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Elsie Mae Gowen, one brother, Orville Gowen, two sisters Geraldine Aubrey and Faye Stillwell.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth Long, three sons, Gerald DeWayne Puckett of Loretto, Jeffrey Todd Puckett of Buffalo and Seth Long of Buffalo, three grandchildren six great grand children, three brothers, Ronnie Gowen, W. R. Gowen both of Buffalo, Bobby Gowen of Bardstown, one sister, Mary Ann Meredith of Florida.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Jesus Name Church Cemetery.

Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
