David Adams of ElkHorn, son of the late Ruby Adams and Inez Noel Adams, was born July 14, 1939, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 2:00 A.M., Thursday, June 30, 2011 in ElkHorn. Age: 71
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church.
He was a farmer all his life and a member of the Taylor County Soil Conservation Board of Directors, Dairy Herd Improvement Association, Southeast United Dairy Industry Association, Green River Cattlemen’s Association, Taylor County Agricultural Council, Agricultural Development Council, Awarded the Master Conservationist Award, and in 2010 was awarded the Innovation in Agriculture Award by the Campbellsville-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce.
He united in marriage to Sophia Campbell July 29, 1960.
Besides his wife, Sophia Campbell Adams of ElkHorn, he is survived bya special friend, Clinton Tungate of ElkHorn; and many other relatives and friends.

Created by Kentucky Monthly magazine, Travel Kentucky showcases statewide tourism destinations through a combination of themed tours, searchable category directories, and real-time, GPS-triggered, turn by turn directional routing.
The app is available now on iTunes and the Android Marketplace as a free download.
Taylor County is featured in the app’s “City Guides,” providing users with a full directory of all Taylor County’s attractions, restaurants, shops, lodging, and much more.
Taylor County’s participation on the app provides a new and unique way for Taylor County to be marketed to visitors, as the app works to connect users to destinations that they are interested in by topic, what is nearby, and by themed tours.

(Casey County, KY) – 78-year-old Patricia Ann Modrelle was found deceased Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at approximately 5:00 PM EDT. Ms. Modrelle was scheduled to be at a Doctor’s appointment in Danville at 9:30 EDT on Tuesday morning June 28. When she did not make her appointment and could not be reached by family members, she was reported missing. After a long search on Tuesday and early Wednesday by KSP personnel with helicopter air support, a ground search was initiated. Ms. Modrelle was located approximately 3 miles from her home lying in a dry creek bed just off of KY highway 243. She had driven off of the roadway and through a heavily wooded area, into the creekbed. There was no evidence at the scene to suggest that Ms. Modrelle had taken any action to avoid the incident. Boyle County Coroner Dr. Don Hamner prounounced Ms. Modrelle dead as a result of natural causes. KSP were assisted at the scene by Boyle, Marion and Casey County rescue.
