Age: 76 Read MorePreacher charged with sex crimes(Columbia, KY.) – 42-year-old Carlos Mendez-Almendra of 2227 Cane Valley Road in Columbia has been indicted in Taylor and Adair Counties for sex crimes. Mendez-Almendra was indicted by the Taylor County Grand Jury for First Degree Sexual Abuse and Intimidating a Witness and by the Adair County Grand Jury for First Degree Rape and Sexual misconduct in related cases. The investigation is on-going and the indictments are the result of complaints filed in mid April of this year. Mendez-Almendra was the preacher at a Spanish speaking church, Apostoles Prophetas, on Ky 531 in Adair County. The church has been closed. Detective B.J. Burton is investigating.
