J. P. Salmon of Campbellsville, son of the late Rev. John G. Salmon and Zenobia Clark Salmon Totten, was born February 6, 1934, in Metcalfe County, Kentucky. He died at 11:25 A.M., Tuesday, November 18, 2008 in Louisville. Age: 74 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the St. Mark United Methodist Church. He united in marriage to Joyce Blevins November 26, 1954. He was a retired employee of the General Electric Company. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Salmon of Campbellsville; two daughters: Debi Ballard and husband, John and Dede Shafar and husband, Fred of Louisville; six grandchildren: John Parks Ballard, Taylor Ballard, Richard Ballard, Brooke Shafar, Payton Parrish and Gabi Parrish of Louisville; one sister, Aleene Miller and husband, Maynard of Versailles; one niece, Karen Blevins Basden of Amarillo, Texas; three nephews: Stewart Miller and wife, Carol of Evanston, Illinois, Mark Miller and wife, Kathy of Newport News, Virginia and Kent Miller and wife, Libby of Versailles; three great-nieces and one great-nephew: Anne Sellers, Katy Miller, Aly Miller and Miles Miller; very special friends, Junior and Patti Southern of Campbellsville, and many other relatives and friends. text-align: center _______________ FUNERAL SERVICES: 1:00 P.M., Friday, November 21, 2008 at Parrott amp; Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville By Rev. Allen Taylor Wayne of Campbellsville, son of the late Fred Guy Wayne and Mayme Lee Sharp Wayne, was born January 9, 1919, in Green County, Kentucky. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family at 2:20 A.M., Sunday, November 16, 2008 at his home in California following a brief illness. Age: 89 He professed faith in Christ and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Fairfield, California. He was active in the Gideons International, Kiwanis Club, Campbellsville University, Campbellsville Baptist Church, and many other organizations. He attended elementary school and high school in Campbellsville, graduating in 1938. He also attended Campbellsville University in 1940 where he established an endowed scholarship for football players. He was also a charter member of the 12 Man Club. As a graduate of Texas A amp; M, he was proud to be called an ldquo;Aggierdquo;. He joined the National Guard in 1939 and the U. S. Army in 1941. As part of the Carpetbaggers, he flew 53 combat missions in World War II. In addition, he flew 30 combat missions in Korea. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and earned several decorations including the Distinguished Flying Cross with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal with Seven Oak Leaf Clusters; Distinguished Unit Citation; European-African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with Six Battle Stars; American Defense Medal. After retiring in California from the United States Air Force in 1964, he taught middle school for one year, and then attended University of California in San Francisco to get his Masterrsquo;s Degree in Education Administration. He served as principal of the Fairfield-Suisun Adult School in 1981. In 1976, he purchased the Rio Verde farm in Campbellsville and lovingly restored it. Many of the familyrsquo;s fondest memories took place on the farm. The farm was sold in 2002 and he and family moved to Campbellsville. He united in marriage to Dorothy Ann ldquo;Dottierdquo; Graham October 31, 1941. From 1981 until his death, he and his wife of 67 years split their year between California and Campbellsville. He was known for his love of a good joke (both telling and hearing), good food, crossword puzzles and his family. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy ldquo;Dottierdquo; Wayne of Campbellsville; two daughters: Anna Sue Asby and husband, Curtis of Sonoma, California and Patsy Lou Young of Fairfield, California; two grandsons: Joe Schlobohm and Sean Schlobohm of Florida; four great-grandchildren; Kelsie Schlobohm, Daulton Schlobohm and Greyson Schlobohm of Florida and Bodie Schlobohm of Washington; two sisters: Dean Carter of Campbellsville and Laurine Beauchamp of Texas; five special nieces and nephews: Graham Holden, Suzanne Walker, Dian Graham, Beverly Brooks and Monica Deutsch and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Hollyenda Wayne May 2, 1956 and one brother and one sister: B. L. Henry Allen Buchanan, Jr. of Campbellsville, son of the late Henry Allen Buchanan, Sr. and Bessie Gaines Buchanan, was born September 30, 1914, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 6:52 P.M., Monday, November 17, 2008 in Campbellsville. Age: 94 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. He united in marriage to Louise Parrott October 19, 1951. She preceded him in death August 5, 2003. He was reared on the Buchanan Family Farm where he helped in the sawmill business. On December 31, 1949, he bought Central Transfer Company and McKinley Nance Trucking Company and then became Central Motor Express which operated from 1953 through 1983. He then retired from Central Motor Garage in 2006. He is survived by two sons: Fred H. Buchanan of Campbellsville and William O. ldquo;Billrdquo; Buchanan and wife, Ann of Louisville; two step-grandchildren: Charity Peterworth and Matt Watson of Louisville; one sister-in-law, Sue Buchanan of Montrose, Alabama; one nephew, William Gaines Buchanan of Mobile, Alabama; three nieces: Nancy Buchanan, Bobbie Sheily and Elizabeth Miller of Burkesville and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Henry Allen Buchanan, III October 30, 2003 and two brothers and one sister: Richard W. Buchanan, Lee G.
