Larry Wise

Larry Wise, 62, of Elk Horn, Kentucky, son of Christine Ruby Burress Wise and the late Edwin Haskel Wise was born April 16th, 1961, in Campbellsville and departed this life on January 31st, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
Larry worked at Corbin Landscaping. He enjoyed riding horses and coon hunting. He loved playing corn hole and horseshoes. He professed faith in Christ and was of the Church of God faith.

Besides his mother, Larry is survived by:
Three children: Stephanie Streeval and her husband, Bradley, of Elk Horn; Matthew Keith Wise and his significant other, Chloe Gupton, of Elk Horn; and Jacob Wise and his wife, Morgan, of Columbia
One step-daughter, Hannah Jones and her husband, Weston, of Elk Horn
Three grandchildren: Claire Wise of Columbia; Austin Fisher and George Patrick Fisher, both of Elk Horn
Special Friend, Theresa Atwood of Campbellsville
Two sisters and two brothers: Judy Forrest and her husband, James, of Elk Horn; Mary Cox and her fiancé, Greg Farmer, of Elk Horn; Harold Wise and his wife, Dianna, of Russell Springs; and Jason Wise and his wife, Amanda, of Campbellsville
A host of other relatives and friends

Larry was preceded in death by:
One granddaughter, Hadleigh Jade Wise
One brother, Billy Ray Wise

VISITATION: Sunday, February 4th, 2024 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.

FUNERAL: Monday, February 5th, 2024 at 11:00 am at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville with burial to follow in Callahan Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested expressions of sympathy may be in the form of donations to funeral expenses and may be made at the funeral home.

Mary Lee Jones, 83

Mary Lee Jones, of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Clell and Dorothy (Lasson) Scroggins, was born April 16, 1940 in Springfield, Illinois and departed this life on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 in Campbellsville at her home. She was 83 years of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Dunnville Church of God. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and former school bus driver for Taylor County Schools.

Mary loved singing and was always sharing her love for the Lord every place she went, whether it be at church or on the street.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Delmar Jones; three children: David Allen Jones, Stephanie Michelle Jones and Jewel Broadhurst; a sister: Pamela Scroggins and a brother: Clell Scroggins, Jr.

Survivors include two sons and two daughters: Delmar Ray Jones and companion Lisa, Billy Lee Jones, Crickett Richardson and husband Todd and Mary Kathleen Milby all of Campbellsville; a sister: Maxine Moore of California; seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and special friends: Betty Woodrum, Stacy and Larry Pittman and Candy Wilson and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Mary Lee Jones will be Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Elliot Cemetery.

Family requests visitation on Saturday from 5-8 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.

David Joseph Abell, 71

David Joseph Abell, 71

David Joseph Abell of Knifley, the son of the late James E. Abell and Mary Bessie Wethington Abell, was born October 1, 1952, in Taylor County, KY, and departed this life on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Taylor Regional Hospital.  He was 71 years of age.

He was of the Catholic Faith and attended St. Bernard Catholic Church.  He was a lifelong farmer and raised beef cattle and tobacco. He enjoyed quail hunting, trading, spending time with family, helping his neighbors, and was known as a giver.

Survivors include his wife: Angie Chelf Abell, along with two children: Brandy McCubbin (Stan) of Spurlington, and Brett Farmer (Kim) of Columbia. Nine grandchildren: Jayden McCubbin, Kenley McCubbin, Callie McCubbin, Chloe McCubbin, Issac Farmer, Luke Farmer, Jacob Farmer, Gabby Farmer, and Logan Parker, and two great-grandchildren: “Baby” Landry David Joseph Shofner and Gracelynn Eads.

Also surviving are eight brothers and sisters: Diann Conquest (Dave), Janis Turner, Jessie Abell (Linda), Stanley Abell, Robert Abell (Kay), Abbie Rose (Don), Sally Marple (Freddie), and Paul Abell (Cathy).

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Roger Abell.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for David Joseph Abell at 11 A.M. Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in Clementsville, KY.

 Father Jinto Thomas and Father George Otuma will officiate.

The family requests visitation on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 9 A.M. -11 A.M., and again from 12 P.M. – 2 P.M. with burial to follow in the St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to be donations to the St. Bernard Catholic Church Cemetery Fund.
